Rotavator: A highly effective machine for intensive tillage The Rotavator is one of the most efficient tillage systems when looking for solutions to specific soil tillage problems. No matter the soil type, soil conditions or the amount of residue, Rotavating will always produce the best result. The Rotavator can be easily adjusted for various working depths and soil finishes. The Rotavator is the most versatile implement for: 1. Crumbling; It can be set to produce soil tilths from very coarse to very fine. 2. Residue mixing; The Rotavator can cope with high amounts of weed or trash without blocking and will incorporate residue evenly throughout the working depth. The Rotavator programme offers a range of versions, making it easy to adapt the machine to any tractor or soil application Crumbling effect The Rotavator cuts the soil with the rotor mounted blades, and projects the soil at the rear trailing board. A combination of working depth, rotor speed, tractor speed and trailing-board settings provides a wide range of tillage finishes. The Rotavator is an important implement in vegetable production where the planter requires a fine tilth, especially for root, bulb, tuber and other undersoil crops such as potatoes, onions, carrots and asparagus where a cloddy soil can effect the shape and quality of the product. The Rotavator can also be used as a seed bed preparation machine for normal farming crops, or fitted with a seed-drill, as a one-pass planter. Rotavator 500 Series The HOWARD ROTAVATOR 500 series is available in a wide range of working widths and configurations. The 500 series is designed for tractors of 60 80 kw. The combinations of different trailing boards, depth control systems, rotors and blades allows the farmer to use the machine in many different crops vegetables, orchards, vineyards, sugar cane and beet, pineapples and wide acre irrigation and dry-land crops. The very strong frame with and a double plate hull allows the machines to be used in very heavy conditions without undue wear and tear. ROTAVATOR 600 SERIES The HOWARD ROTAVATOR 600 series is suitable for medium to large size tractors, for use in intensive farming and for contractors. The machines range from 180-405cm working width and for tractors of 60-137kW. The range is available with 4 different rotor types in both single and double flange. Three different gear boxes are available, two with 4 speed pick-off gears ( Selectatilth ) and one with a 3 speed lever change and oil cooler. The range includes the new 280cm working width machine (305CM transport width) developed to comply with the European road ordinance. This has been made possible by the new depth control system which is extremely compact and reliable. Depth control is available with skids (up to 255cm working width) or with rear wheels and a wide range of rollers for various soil applications and conditions. R600S-305S with toothed packer roller. ROTAVATOR 700S-D The 700 series machines are the most sophisticated machines in their class. Synchronized dual gear driven side-drives, coupled to a single rotor, offers unprecedented reliability. The oil cooling system allows for long trouble free working days in high ambient temperatures (40c+), giving a long operating life to the complete machine. The rotor bearing units are protected by face seals giving up to 3 times additional working life compared to ordinary oil seals. ROTALABOUR. The finest seed bed preparation machine The ROTALABOUR is a perfect machine for seed bed preparation. The special shape of the Rotalabour blades effectively breaks down clods, while at the same time using very little power. This allows wider machines to be used on smaller tractors when preparing seed beds. Another positive aspect of the Rotalabour is the fact that the soil under the blade receives minimum pressure from the blade, increasing the capillary action of the soil. The blade enters the soil at a negative angle, which prevents residue packing in the middle of the rotor, which can happen with many similar machines from other manufacturers. The Rotalabour blade breaks clods very effectively. The double hinged trailing board allows very close position of the roller to the machine in a very compact configuration.
