Louis Palmer: Champion of the Earth 2011 Award by UNEP Invitation This is an invitation for everyone to join our initiative, the WAVE World Advanced Vehicle Expedition. Prototypes as well as serial models are invited, trucks as well as e-bikes, to demonstrate the many sophisticated solutions that already exist in the world today. We want to help the world transform to be truly green. I am the first person to circumnavigate the planet in a Solar powered car, called the Solartaxi. In 2010, I successfully lead the Zero Emissions Race around the world in 80 days, where three different electric cars joined me on the mission to prove that this technology is reliable and efficient. All together, I reached the attention of nearly one billion people worldwide. For these efforts, I have been awarded the European Solar Prize in 2009, and in 2011, I received the United Nations Environment Programme s Champion of the Earth Award for action and inspiration. My vision is to continue spreading the message that solutions exist for sustainable mobility using renewable energies. This is why I will start a great WAVE rolling. This September, electric vehicles from all over the world will traverse Europe between Paris and Prague, in a fun, meaningful and exhilarating adventure experience. The 2011 WAVE is also an exchange platform for interaction with government representatives, business leaders, schools and other pioneers. I would be delighted to welcome you to the WAVE and show the world that we can all make a difference, together! For further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you! Yours sincerely, Louis Palmer WAVE tour director and initiator

POWERED BY RENEWABLE ENERGIES All participating vehicles will be powered by 100% renewable energies. Each team must feed electricity from a renewable source, such as wind or solar into the grid in their home country. This shows, that each person can produce his own electricity at home from renewable sources and drive in a clean way. En route, the vehicles will withdraw that energy from any power socket. Each participating vehicle must show proof of clean and green energy production from their home country. page 4 out of 10
