MIC Manual Intelligent Control The Manual Intelligent Control (MIC) system features a range of advanced sensor technology controls offering the ultimate in energy saving and carbon reduction. Significant energy savings can be achieved with a MIC system that dynamically manages lamp power according to the instantaneous lighting requirement. It ensures that the right level of light appears at the right place only when required, this preventing unnecessary energy consumption and potentially reducing maintenance costs. The MIC system has been installed in over 3000 BT telephone exchanges with confirmed energy savings in excess of 70%. There are three types of Manual Intelligent Control: MIC1, MIC2 and MIC3, available as a master (sensor incorporated) or a slave (controlled by master), to suit different requirements and budgets. The manual intelligent controls are programmed manually by a dip switch to switch on and off automatically to maximise cost savings. MIC 1 MIC 1 is a versatile and cost-effective OFF ON OFF energy saving control unit. Suffix Luminaire Master /MIC1 Slave OFF Absence luminaires are switched off. ON Occupancy detected luminaires illuminate at full output unless there is sufficient daylight and the lux level setting overides it. OFF Absence after a preset time, luminaires switch off completely. /MIC1S Example Alley Pack LED 4000K with intergrated MIC1 master system: LAAP 104/MIC1 MIC 2 MIC 2 offers all the benefits of the MIC 1 but with a DIM ON DIM function. MIC 2 is an ideal control for reducing energy consumptions whilst still providing some level of illumination for extra safety. Suffix Luminaire Master /MIC2 Slave DIM Absence luminaires are on at a courtesy preset dimmed level. Approximately 20% output and 1/3 total power. ON Occupancy detected luminaires illuminate at full output. DIM Absence after a preset time of absence, luminaires return to the courtesy preset dimmed level. /MIC2S Example Alley Pack LED 3000K with intergrated MIC2 slave system: LAAP 103/MIC2S MIC 3 MIC 3 is the most flexible energy saving manual control with an OFF ON DIM OFF function, permitting full light management and maximum energy saving. Suffix Luminaire Master /MIC3 OFF ON DIM OFF Absence luminaires are switched off. Occupancy detected luminaires illuminate at full output. After a preset time of absence, luminaires dim to the courtesy preset dimmed level. Approximately 20% output and 1/3 total power After continued absence over a preset time, luminaires switch off completely.
