PRESS REVIEW August 2nd, 2018 Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market Showed a Decrease of 16% in the seven months of 2018. Passenger Car Market Decreased By 14%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased By 23%. Turkey s passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market decreased by 16% in the first seven months of 2018 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 406,082. In the seven-month period of 2017, total market sales figure was 483,455. Passenger car sales went down by 13.69% in the first seven months of 2018, compared to the same period of previous year, to 317,894. In the same period of 2017, the sales were 368,308. In January-July period of 2018, light commercial vehicle market decreased by 23,41%, in comparison to the year before, to 88,188. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 115,147. Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market Showed a Decrease of 36% in July 2018. Passenger Car Market Decreased By 33%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased By 46%. In July 2018, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market decreased to 52,734. In comparison to the total number of 82,297 in July 2017, the sales went down in a ratio of 35.92%. In July 2018, passenger car sales went down by 32.64% in comparison to the same month of the year before and were 42,024. Last year, the sales were 62,384. Light commercial vehicle market decreased by 46.22% in July 2018 compared to July 2017, to 10,710. Last year, the sales were 19,913.

By the end of July 2018, a decrease of 13.6% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 23.6% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 27.2% was observed. 104 electric cars and 2,510 hybrid passenger cars were sold in the first seven months of 2018. When the average emission values of the passenger car market in the end of July 2018 are considered, the passenger cars between 100-120g/km took the largest share with a ratio of 41.39%, with a number of 131,568. At the end of July 2018, diesel passenger car sales share decreased to 59.98%, while the automatic transmission passenger car sales share increased to 64.84%. At the end of July 2018, 83.81% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 54.7% reached the highest sales volume (173,936). When evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (50.8%, a quantity of 161,389). At the end of July 2018, when evaluated according to body type, Van s with a share of 69.06% had the highest sales volume (60,903), Light trucks followed them with a share of 12.41% (10,941) while the share of Pick-ups was 10.14% (8,940) and the share of Minibuses was 8.40% (7,404) in light commercial vehicle market. In the first seven months of 2018, passenger car sales went down by 13.69% in comparison to the same period of previous year and were 317,894. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 368,308. In July 2018, passenger car sales went down by 32.64% in comparison to the same month of the year before and were 42,024. In July 2017, the sales were 62,384. In January-July period of 2018, light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 23.41% in comparison to the same period of the last year, to 88,188. In the same period of previous year, the sales were 115,147. In July 2018, light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 46.22% in comparison to the same month of previous year, to 10,710. In July 2017, the sales were 19,913. When the end of July 2018 passenger car market is studied in terms of engine volume, the biggest slice of the pie was taken by passenger cars under 1600cc with a ratio of 96.11% and a number of 305,543. Passenger cars between 1600cc to 2000cc followed them with a ratio of 2.79% and passenger cars above 2000cc with a ratio of 0.27%. In comparison with the same period of 2017, a decrease of 13.6% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 23.6% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 27.2% was observed. 75 electric cars below 85kW engine power and 29 electric cars above 121 Kw, a total of 104 electric cars were sold in the first seven months of 2018. At the end of July 2018, 355 hybrid cars under 1600cc, 1,955 hybrid cars between 1601cc- 1800cc (>50kW), 20 hybrid cars between 1801cc - 2000cc, 175 hybrid cars between 2001cc- 2500cc (>100KW) and 5 hybrid cars above 2500cc were sold. 2,510 hybrid cars were sold in January-July period of 2018. When the end of July 2018 passenger car market is studied in terms of average emission values, passenger cars between 100-120 gr/km have the highest share of 41.39% (131,568) and following this, passenger cars between 120-140 gr/km have a share of 21.57% (68,582). At the end of July 2018, when evaluated according to frame type, most preferred body type was again Sedan (50.8%, a quantity of 161,389). Following Sedan passenger cars are Hatchback frame with a share of 25.1% and a sales volume of 79,920 and SUV with a share of 19.8% and total sales volume of 62,875.

At the end of July 2018, automatic transmission passenger car sales numbers, in comparison to the same period in 2017, decreased by 4.68%. Automatic transmission passenger car sale shares at the end of July 2018, in comparison to the same period of the previous year, increased from 58.71% to 64.84% (a number of 206,127).
