ORDINANCE NO. 2326 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA REPEALING SECTIONS 22-131 AND 22-132 AND ADDING A NEW SECTION 22-131 (SPEED OF CERTAIN STREETS) BY AMENDING DIVISION 4 OF ARTICLE IV OF CHAPTER 22 OF THE WEST COVINA MUNICIPAL CODE TO UPDATE POSTED SPEED FOR A NUMBER OF STREETS CITYWIDE WHEREAS, an Engineeing and Taffic Suvey was conducted on 195 steet segments within the City to update cment posted speed limits; WHEREAS, Sections 22-131 and 22-132 of the West Covina Municipal Code shall be epealed and eplaced with a new Section 22-131 WHEREAS, Sections 22-131 pima facie speed of 195 oadway segments to be updated based on the Engineeing and Taffic Suvey pepaed in accodance with pocedues outlined in the Califonia Manual on Unifom Taffic Contol Devices and as equied by Section 627 of the Califonia Vehicle Code; now NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST COVINA, CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION NO. 1: Sections 22-131 and 22-132 of Division 4 (Speed) of Aliicle IV (Opeation of Vehicles) of Chapte 22 (Taffic Regulations) of the West Covina Municipal Code ae heeby epealed in thei entiety. SECTION NO. 2: Division 4 (Speed) of Aliicle IV (Opeation of Vehicles) of Chapte 22 (Taffic Regulations) of the West Covina Municipal Code is heeby amended with the addition of a new Section 22-131 as follows: Sec. 22-131 - Speed Limits of Specific Steets It is heeby dete1mined, upon the basis of an engineeing and taffic investigation, that odely movement of vehicula taffic would be in a easonable and safe manne by establishing enfoceable speed limits unde the conditions found to exist upon the following steets.
