This makes Škoda Auto one of the oldest automobile brands in the world. It became a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group in 1991. Management, marketing, product and most of the manufacturing are still located in Mladá Boleslav. Toyota and Groupe PSA launched of city cars in Kolín in early 2005 four years after the carmakers unveiled their joint-venture project. TPCA was constructed as one of the greenest factories in Europe. Roughly 80% of parts and suppliers are from the Czech More than 99% of the cars are exported, mainly to Western European markets.
