In normal conditions, torque tends to be diverted to the front wheels only, with a view to keeping fuel consumption to a level comparable to that of the 2WD mode. LOCK mode: In more difficult conditions, and at speeds of less than 40km/h, torque is evenly distributed to the front and rear wheels, allowing the New Renault Koleos to showcase its 4x4 ability. 2WD mode: The two-wheel drive mode is ideally suited to dry roads or motorway driving for optimised fuel consumption.
