San Francisco. www.empiremocktrial.org GETTING TO THE EVENT The United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York is located at 225 Cadman Plaza East. However, that block of Cadman Plaza East itself is closed to traffic, and Tillary Street has a new bicycle roadway along the curb so as to prevent stopping for passengers. The courthouse is conveniently accessible through many subway lines the yellow, red, green, blue. Street parking in the area is available but is limited. Several parking garages are nearby. We have included directions below to help you make your way to the court. Thank you for joining us! We greatly appreciate your service. TABLE OF CONTENTS Subway 4/5 train. R/2/3 train. Page 2 SUBWAY Cell service is operative in most stations. You can access updated information at www.mta.info, including the Weekender display of any changes (updated by midnight Friday). Fares (using Metrocard ) are $2.75 per ride, with a bonus value given after $5.50. You can obtain a free subway map at the clerk s booth. ADA compliant stations with escalators/elevators are indicated with a symbol on the maps, including Jay Street Station and 2/3 platforms (only) of the Borough Hall Station. 4/5-train (green line) The 4 and 5 trains use the same track. Take either one and get off at the Borough Hall stop. Follow the map below to the court. Please note that the 6 train does not go to Brooklyn at all. At certain hours the 5 doesn t either; but then, the 4 at the same platform will complete your trip.

Page 3 R train (yellow line) Take the R train and get off at the Court Street stop. The same station is called Borough Hall on the numbered lines. Follow the same map as for the 4/5 trains (page 2) to the court. For elevator/escalator access, take the R train one stop farther to the Jay Street stop. Exit at the West end of the platform (by the rear of Brooklyn-bound trains), and follow the same map as for the A/C/F trains (page 4) to the court. 2/3-train (red line) The 2 and 3 trains use the same track. Take either one and get off at the Clark Street stop and follow the map below, or walk straight from Clark Street across the Cadman Plaza lawn. (The 2 and 3 offer ADA elevator/escalator access at their very nearby Borough Hall stop; then use the preceding map.) Please note that the 1 train does not go to Brooklyn at all.

Page 4 A/C/F-train (orange lines) Take the A, C or F train and get off at the Jay Street stop. Follow the map below to the court. Note that R trains stop at a platform that s now part of this station also.

Page 5 DRIVING Directions FROM STATEN ISLAND: Proceed over Verrazano Bridge to the Gowanus/ Brooklyn Queens Expressway (I-278 East). Take the BQE to the exit for Cadman Plaza West (Exit 28A). Proceed uphill on Cadman Plaza West to the third traffic light (Tillary Street). The Courthouse is the building to the left, across the park. FROM SOUTHERN STATE/BELT PARKWAY & JFK AIRPORT: Proceed West on the Belt Parkway to the end, merging onto the Gowanus/Brooklyn Queens Expressway (I-278 East). (DO NOT exit to I-278 West over the Verrazano Bridge.) Take the BQE to the exit for Cadman Plaza West (Exit 28A). Proceed on Cadman Plaza West to the third traffic light (Tillary Street). The Courthouse is the building to the left, across the park. FROM LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY (I-495) or NORTHERN STATE/GRAND CENTRAL PARKWAY & LAGUARDIA AIRPORT: Go West and exit to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278 West) toward Brooklyn. Take the BQE to the exit for Tillary Street (Exit 29). Proceed straight up Tillary Street to the fourth traffic light (Cadman Plaza East). The Courthouse is on the right. To let off passengers; proceed and turn at the end of Tillary street.

Page 6 Parking There is limited parking available on nearby streets; see map below and read all signs carefully. Monday through Saturday, the parking is metered. Pay at the curbside meter on each block and display the receipt on your dashboard. On Sunday, parking is free. On the below map, the (A) represents the courthouse. The blue dots represent areas where our judges have parked in the past. If you plan to search for a spot, please leave yourself plenty of time in the morning.
