RELIABLE IN EVERY SITUATION. Its numerous and cutting-edge safety assistance systems ensure MAN bus chassis provide maximum safety on the road every time. Electronic brake system (EBS) Rapid intervention in the brake system and the anti-lock braking system signifi - cantly increase braking safety. Integrated ASR reduces spin on the drive wheels and also wear. MAN BrakeMatic with maximum speed control management and cruise control MAN BrakeMatic management of the continuous brake means that this brake is automatically applied as soon as the driver touches the brake pedal. Maximum speed control and cruise control enable the vehicle to precisely maintain a preselected speed, thereby boosting safety on steep downward gradients in particular. Emergency Brake Assist EBA The brake assistant function warns the driver of impending collisions and brakes automatically, and to a complete stop where required, in emergency situations. Lane Guard System (LGS) The Lane Guard System (LGS) uses a vibrator impulse in the seat to warn the driver as soon as the coach leaves the lane, in other words when the driver diverges from the lane markings. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Speed is controlled based on the distance from the vehicle in front and kept constant by means of subtle interventions from the retarder in the brake system. Safety on the road is also increased. 10

BOTH POWERFUL AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY. Unmistakeably MAN, the bus/coach chassis impress with a sophisticated, highly efficient driveline and fuel-efficient assistance systems. Greater engine performance, fewer emissions. MAN has introduced a multitude of innovations in the bus driveline that enable a perfect balance between effi ciency, power and cleanliness. For instance, we have subjected our high-torque, common rail engines to extensive optimisation processes. With all engine variants from 240 hp up to 500 hp, MAN has a powerful and extremely clean engine portfolio available, which can be fl exibly used in all areas of deployment in cities, in the countryside and on trips. Alongside the diesel engines, in the city bus chassis, MAN also offers particularly environmentally friendly and powerful natural gas engines. D0836 Engine for city and intercity buses Driver assistance systems for increased fuel savings. Optimised shift strategies, as well as newly developed gearbox software for automated manually operated gearboxes and fully automatic gearboxes, also have a positive effect on fuel consumption. With the coach chassis in conjunction with the MAN Tipmatic, one highlight is the GPS-supported MAN Effi cientcruise cruise control together with Effi cientroll : it intervenes pre-emptively in the gear selection and also activates the rolling function as soon as additional fuel can be saved. D2066 Engine for city and intercity buses Extended service intervals. MAN bus/coach chassis are on the road for longer. We have increased the interval between oil changes* up to 140 000 km or 18 months. At the same time, depending on the deployment profi le, diesel particulate fi lters can have service lives of up to 850 000 km. COMFORT WITH CERTAINTY. Intelligent gearboxes. MAN has two gearboxes for you to choose between. They increase driving comfort and also save fuel perfect for driving through the city and travelling across the country: The automatic gearbox for 250 hp up to 460 hp impresses with improved gearchange quality and a new low-friction oil with optimised viscosity, resulting in gentle, quiet gearshifts. Fuel consumption is also reduced considerably thanks to improved retarder output. First-class driving comfort. The modern MAN axles provide the highest level of driving comfort which the driver and passengers can feel immediately. Whether rigid axle or single-wheel steering: both axle types impress during the fi rst few metres and will please the driver when manoeuvring with small turning circles. Thanks to the excellent suspension, even during long journeys, back pain is a thing of the past and the high level of maintenance friendliness ensures greater convenience. The new MAN TipMatic for 420 hp up to 500 hp ensures a lower level of inside noise and reduced fuel consumption with an axle ratio of i=2.73. Fast, comfortable gearshifts are possible thanks to Smartshift. The excellent moving-off behaviour and the optimised manoeuvring feature also increase enjoyment when driving. An improved retarder brake output of maximum 500 kw ensures lower brake wear and, like with the automatic gearbox, considerably reduced fuel consumption. 12

Cool ideas. The fold-out intercooler stands out with its high level of reliability and its cleverly conceived design; it not only allows good accessibility to all the important areas at all times, but is also particularly maintenance and user-friendly. The engine is always reliably cooled by the intercooler, which is easy to clean. This increases the service life of the engine signifi cantly, meaning the engine and the technician can stay cool. Ergonomic design. MAN chassis always provide their drivers with a practical, ergonomic and appealing work place. All key information can be seen at a glance on the instrument panel, and the optimised switch layout improves user ergonomics. A continuously adjustable multi-function steering wheel also ensures a relaxed working environment. 13
