Please read and understand all assembly instructions, notices and warnings before assembling and using your Cycle Country accessory. Follow these guidelines to ensure a successful and satisfactory installation: Read, understand this manual before beginning installation Periodically check for wear and tightness of all fasteners. Replace or re-torque fasteners as necessary. SAFETY & GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION Cycle Country accessories are designed with your safety in mind. In order to protect you and your vehicle, certain parts of the accessory and/or hardware may be designed to collapse or break when the equipment is over-stressed. Cycle Country winch mount kits are designed to be compatible with Cycle Country winches and many others, but may not be compatible with some winches. Cycle Country winch mount kits have design features that favor snow plow applications.! DANGER!! WARNING!! CAUTION! To avoid personal injury or damage to your vehicle: Read and understand all notices for: Caution Warning Danger Follow instructions for your vehicle, winch, winch mount and other items used in combination with this product. Do not winch unsecured loads at any time. Disconnect battery during winch installation or service to prevent electrical hazards. Do not lift loads overhead. Do not exceed the load capacity of the winch. Always wear gloves when handling wire winch cable. Do not use your winch or winch mount for towing. Do not shock load the winch, cable or winch mount. Keep fingers, hands and loose clothing away from roller fairlead and winch cable drum when in use. 2
Hardware Package CYC6535 PARTS ORDERING INFORMATION: Replacement fasteners are common-type and can be purchased locally. Use minimum Grade 5 or metric 8.8 zinc-coated fasteners. 3
Before you begin: Tools required: Read and understand all instructions. Verify all parts and hardware are accounted for before beginning installation. Reference to Left and Right are from a driver s perspective. Basic metric wrench and socket set. Installation Prep: Illustration 1-1 To begin, remove the front bumper from the vehicle. Easy access to install parts and to use tools is gained by removing this bumper. (Illustration 1-1) Front Bumper Winch Mount Kit: Not included. Use bolts included with winch kit. Easy access to install the square bolts thru the plate is gained before the winch is fastened to the mount plate. The locknuts can be loosely tightened to prevent square bolt from dropping out of the plate. Install the winch mount plate to the winch. Install washers as shown for the 2 slotted mounting locations. (See illustration 1-2) Illustration 1-2 Not included. Use washers included in winch kit. Install washers over slots. Mount winch assembly to frame: Mount the winch assembly to the vehicle front frame as shown. Insert U-bolts from the rear. Do not tighten hardware completely as it may be necessary to shift part during the next steps. (Illustration 2-1) Illustration 2-1 Winch assembly Pioneer front frame Re-install front bumper: Re-install the front bumper using the two upper bolts and the four lower bumper bolts. Do not tighten hardware completely as it may be necessary to shift part in the next steps. (Illustration 2-2) Illustration 2-2 Re-install OEM upper bolts Re-install front bumper Re-install OEM lower bolts Illustration 2-3 Mount winch assembly to front bumper: Install the square bolts thru the winch mounting plate as shown. Insert the square bolts thru the clamp plates around the front bumper square frame. Install the washers and nuts. All hardware can be tightened. (Illustration 2-3) 5
Roller fairlead mount: Install the roller fairlead to the winch mounting bracket as shown. Use the hardware included in the winch kit for this step. (Illustration 3-1) Illustration 3-1 Nuts, washers and bolts not included. Use hardware included with winch kit. Plow Mount 6
