Safety information. Meaning of the safety symbols Y DANGER! ailure to comply with this sign may result in danger to life or physical condition. Y WARNING! ailure to comply with this sign may result in injury. Y ATTENTION! ailure to comply with the sign may result in damage to equipment or other connected loads.. General safety instructions The design of the device is state-of-the-art and complies with approved safety regulations. ailure to observe the safety instructions may nonetheless lead to injury or damage to the device. Only use the device when it is in perfect technical condition. Any faults affecting the safety of persons or the proper functioning of the device must be repaired immediately by specialists. Y WARNING! Hot components Burns: Only change blown fuses when the device is fully de-energised Blown fuses may only be replaced once the cause of the fault is known and has been rectified Never bypass or repair fuses Only use original fuses rated as specified on the device Device parts can become hot during operation. Do not touch them. Never store heat sensitive objects close to the device (e.g. temperature sensitive clothes if the device has been installed in a wardrobe) Introduction This instruction manual contains important information for the safe operation of equipment supplied by Schaudt. Make sure you read and follow the safety instructions provided. The instruction manual should always be kept in the vehicle. All safety information must be passed on to other users. 3 Operation The AD 0X adapters have no controls. They are operated via the basis vehicle. 3. aults lat vehicle fuses The majority of power supply system faults are caused by blown fuses. Please contact our customer service team if you cannot rectify the fault using the following table. If this is not possible, e.g. if you are abroad, you can have the caravan power supply repaired at a specialist workshop. In this case, you must ensure that the warranty is not invalidated by incorrect repairs being carried out. Schaudt GmbH will not accept any liability for damage resulting from such repairs. ault Possible cause Remedy A connected device, or one or more lamps, do not work 4 Application and function No V supply from the battery use in the AD 0x defec- tive No control voltage Check the battery voltage on the AD 0x (connector B) Check the fuse in the battery supply lead and replace it if necessary Replace the fuse Contact customer service The AD 0X adapters are used to switch on and off additional consumers via vehicle voltages Ignition on (terminal 5) and D+ of the basis vehicle. An additional fused steady plus output / term. 5 and term. 30 outputs are available depending on type. These functions are required to connect additional position lights and fog lights, or day/night-time driving lights, for example. The AD 0 adapter also provides the ability to connect a voltage as soon as the engine is running (amplification of D+ signal; leads itself to the connecting up of consumers having a high power consumption -- these can then only be started up when the vehicle engine is running). On the AD 03 adapter, both the control voltage for the D+ input and the control voltage to connect the position lights can be active +V or active GND. A changeover switch each enables here a vehicle-specific setting. 8.37 BA / EN Date: 0.08.0 3

7 Mechanical installation The device is intended as a wall-mounted device (with fuses facing forwards) or as a floor-mounted device. Environment Minimum clearance Select a dry place for installation. Ensure a minimum clearance to the surrounding fixtures and fittings: Maintain a gap of at least cm on all sides (except mounted side). Whilst in operation, the ambient temperature must not exceed +70 C, measured.5 cm away from the sides of the device. itting Screw the adapter onto a firm, flat base with four (or three for the AD 03) screws (3.5mm diameter) at the four fitting holes provided. 4x 3.5 Top view 53 73 ront of device 7 84 ig. 5 Dimension diagram of AD 0 and AD 0 adapters (dimensions in mm) Installation distance rolls for attachment with 3.5 screws 3x 3.7 73 ig. 6 89 Dimension diagram for AD 03 adapter (dimensions in mm) 8.37 BA / EN Date: 0.08.0 9
8 Electrical connection Y WARNING! Reverse poling! Damage to the electrical system of the basis vehicle: Ensure that the required voltage levels of the control voltages match the values required. Only carry out electrical connection work when the system is isolated from the power supply. Connection sequence Connect the adapter in the following sequence (also refer to the block diagram and the view in the instruction manual):. All connectors to consumers (additional lights, heater, any other devices). Control voltages from basis vehicle (B4) 3. Battery voltage from basis vehicle (B) Disconnection Disconnect in the reverse order. 8. Block diagram/wiring diagram Y The block diagram/wiring diagram are in the appendix of the instruction manual for the AD 0 and AD 0 adapters. 8. Connecting peripheral devices Y ATTENTION! Short circuits! Damage to the adapter or cable fire: To protect the supply lines in the event of a short circuit, connect the fuses directly to the positive terminal of battery. use protection The supply lines (to B) must be fused by the basis vehicle in line with their cross section. Select cable cross-sections in line with EN 648-/-. The maximum current load must not exceed 90% of the individual fuse rating. 0 Date: 0.08.0 8.37 BA / EN
9 Initial use 9. Checks prior to initial use Before starting up Ensure that the battery of the basis vehicle is connected correctly (only as part of initial use). 9. Starting up the system Engine of the basis vehicle when stationary: Switch on the vehicle lighting and check whether all position lights are also switched on. If available: Turn on the switch for the fog lights and check whether the fog light(s) is/are switched on. Check that all consumers connected to the steady plus are ready. Ensure that no consumer that may only be operational when the engine is turned on can be switched on. Start the engine of the basis vehicle: Check whether all consumers that may only be operational when the engine is turned on are now operational. 9.3 Settings (only AD 03) Adjust the slide switch as specified in ig. 7.
