THE CONCEPT Veloce is an exclusive motoring event that raises funds for Wings For Life, a charity that provides funding for spinal injury research, and Hope For Tomorrow, who provide mobile chemotherapy units. You are invited to join the 75 guests for an unforgettable motoring experience at Britain s best-loved circuit, Goodwood. We hope you can join us.
THE EXPERIENCE This will be a relaxed and informal day that feels much like a garden party, with a difference. You will be driven around the Goodwood circuit by famous racing drivers in a selection of the greatest road and racing cars ever built. Guests will also have the opportunity to drive the latest Ferraris, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis on local roads, courtesy of H.R. Owen. There will be a static display in the paddock featuring the finest modern and classic road and racing cars. Breakfast, lunch, tea and all-day refreshments will be served in the Jackie Stewart Pavilion beside the pits.
THE DRIVERS Our lineup of A-list drivers is growing by the week, but currently those confirmed include: Damon Hill F1 World Champion in 1996 and 22 times F1 winner. Darren Turner Young Driver of the Year 1996, test driver for McLaren F1 from 1997 to 2006, three times Le Mans class winner. Andrew Jordan British Touring Car Champion 2013 and remains a front-runner this season driving for BMW. He is a regular winner at the Goodwood Revival. Marino Franchitti American Le Mans series champion 2010, Sebring class winner 2013 and outright winner 2014. Legendary designer Ian Callum will be joining us for the day along with a number of other influential figures from the industry including Octane editor James Elliott.
THE CARS Around 40 cars will be at Goodwood for Veloce. THE CHARITIES Veloce has been created to raise funds for charities. Here are details about the two charities we are supporting this year: WINGS FOR LIFE Their mission: SPINAL CORD INJURY MUST BECOME CURABLE Wings for Life is a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation. Their mission is to find a cure for spinal cord injury. They fund world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing the injured spinal cord. Help us support Wings for Life in achieving their goal.
HOPE FOR TOMORROW Hope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity, bringing cancer care closer to patients homes via our Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs). As a cancer charity, Hope for Tomorrow understand that time is a crucial factor for patients, and in 2007 they launched the world s first ever Mobile Cancer Care Unit (previously Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones..
