Three additional accesses to the parking lot are available: two from 6 th Street and one from 7 th Street. Therefore, the impact is not considered adverse. This driveway is relocated to the east within the same block. Therefore, the impact is not considered adverse. Narrow driveway provides access to the parking lot in the rear, but is usually gated. Closing this driveway will not cause significant operational change as the parking lot has access via th Street. This driveway provides access to the Vallero gas station. By removing one driveway, the station can still function properly. Therefore, the impact is not considered adverse. The east driveway provides access to a parking lot for miscellaneous retail. The lot is served by another driveway located on 24 th Street. The parking lot can function with one driveway; however, access will be more difficult. The west driveway (under a building s second story overhang) provides access to a back parking lot. Two additional accesses to the back parking lot are available: one from 24 th Street and one from Santa Clara Street, next to the adjacent building to the west. Therefore, the impact is not considered adverse. Currently this parcel is owned by Empire Lumber. This site is being redeveloped and no access is planned on Santa Clara Street. Therefore the impact is not considered adverse. A driveway serving the Bank of America needs to be removed. There is another access about 50 east will serve as the only driveway for the whole parcel. As the businesses can still function with one driveway, the impact is therefore not considered adverse.

A new traffic signal will be installed at the intersection as part of the project. Crosswalks will be added to the east and west legs of the intersection. Pedestrian signal heads will be included in the signal design with countdown indicators. With these improvements the impact to pedestrians is not adverse. Item 4, Page 3-40, Section 3.2., Paragraph 3.2. New Crosswalk at Santa Clara Street and 27th Street For the BRT alternative, additional pedestrian activity is expected in an east/west direction along Santa Clara Street at 27 th Street because of the passenger platform located one block to the east. Currently the north leg of the intersection does not have a striped crosswalk. To maintain pedestrian safety, a crosswalk will be added to the north leg of the intersection. With this improvement the impact to pedestrians is not adverse. Item 5, Page 4-, Section 4., Insert new section 4..x 4..x Santa Clara Street and 24 th Avenue The BRT Alternative results in an adverse impact at the intersection of Santa Clara Street and 24 th Street. Mitigation: Mitigation of this impact would require changing the northbound approach geometry from a shared left-through-right lane to a shared left-through lane and a right-turn lane. This modification can be made within the existing roadway width.
