1. Remove engine cover by grabbing both sides evenly and pulling up at once. 2a. Disconnect each coil pack clip, one at a time, starting from cylinder number one. 2b. Once all clips are disengaged pull harness back and out of the way. 3. Remove coil packs from cylinders 3 and 4 and set aside.
4. Disconnect both ends of the OEM vent hose by squeezing on both sides of the clip and then pulling. 5. Remove the (10) T30 OEM torx screws. 6. Remove rear vent tube from oil separator by sliding out. 7. Carefully remove the gasket from the OEM oil separator and transfer it to the Spulen oil separator as shown.
8. Place the new oil separator into place, lining up the bolt holes. Then re-install the factory rear vent tube. 9. Using the provided bolts, secure the oil separator plate into place and reuse the OEM T30 torx screw for rear vent tube. 10. Re-install the two OEM coils which were previously removed and reconnect all four coils. 11. Apply thread lock to and install the plugs and barbs needed for your configuration. The barb with the smallest orifice should be used with a boost gauge and the medium or large used with other accessories such as a BOV or methanol kit.
12. Lightly coat the threads of the included 6mm plug with thread lock and install it into the center of the boost tap. 13. Lightly coat both o-rings with silicone spray, motor oil, or grease and insert into intake manifold. 14. Push boost tap completely into intake manifold and then spin clockwise to lock onto manifold tabs. 15. Place one drop of thread lock onto the 5mm set screw and then insert it into the threaded hole in the locking tabs. Tighten until slight pressure is felt but do not over torque.
16. Remove 16mm bolt securing passenger side engine mount. 17. Using the (2) provided 10mm bolts, secure mounting bracket as shown. 18. At the bottom of the catch can, install provided drain after applying thread tape. Tighten nut (1) into catch can using 14mm wrench. Then turn wing nut (2) counter-clockwise until fully extended into closed position. 19. Using the 16mm bolt removed from the engine mount, install catch can as shown. Rotate catch can as far from engine as possible. Torque bolt to 40 Nm.
20. Rotate breather hose downwards out of the way and install catch can lines one at a time on the catch can, making sure to angle both fittings towards the front of the car in parallel before tightening on. 21. Connect appropriate lines to oil separator as shown, making sure to angle both fittings towards the driver side headlight in parallel before tightening on. DRAINING THE CATCH CAN 1. Make sure drain line is fully inserted into the drain valve. 2. Place other end of drain line into disposable container. (Ex. plastic water bottle) 3. Turn wing nut (2) clockwise until fluid begins to drain. 4. Once no more fluid remains, turn wing nut (2) counter-clockwise until fully extended into closed position. 5. Dispose of drained fluids properly.
