Overall Construction Progress Construction began in July 2004. As of mid-march 2009, the Project is over 95% complete. The Contractor has worked over 3.8 million hours without a lost-time accident. Construction of the two underground stations at 1st/Boyle and 1st/Soto is 94% complete. Construction of the six at-grade stations is 90% complete. Systems installation is 97% complete. 2

Underground Station Construction 1 st /Boyle and 1 st /Soto Boyle Heights/Mariachi Plaza Station Soto Station Station finishes are being installed on the station mezzanines and the platforms. Finish work in the station entrances and on the plazas are the last areas to be completed after the access to underground equipment areas for installation becomes less needed. 5
At-Grade Station Construction 1 st /Alameda and 1 st /Utah Little Tokyo/Arts District Station Pico/Aliso Station Canopy construction is nearing completion at both the Little Tokyo/Arts District and Pico/Aliso Stations. Installation of lighting and communications equipment is underway. 6
At-Grade Station Construction Indiana Street and 3 rd /Ford Indiana Station Maravilla Station Canopy construction is at various stages of completion at the Indiana and Maravilla Stations. Architectural finishes including platform paving is well underway. 7
At-Grade Station Construction 3 rd /Mednik and Pomona/Atlantic East Los Angeles Civic Center Station Pomona/Atlantic Station Canopy construction is underway at the East Los Angeles Civic Center and Pomona/Atlantic Stations. Station artwork and architectural finishes along the platform are being installed. 8
Powered-Light Rail Vehicle Test The first powered-light Rail Vehicle test occurred on March 11, 2009 when the new 2550 Ansaldobreda Vehicle received power from the Overhead Contract System catenary wires along the east portion of the alignment from 1 st /Lorena to Pomona/Atlantic. The Traction Power Sub-Stations for the remaining portion of the alignment to the west are in the process of being energized. However, vehicle power will not be provided until work in the underground portion is further along. 9
