Vauxhall Gets The Green Light for Imtech Fleet Solutions 11 th June Vauxhall has successfully secured a deal to supply 60 of its award-winning Vivaro vans in a group-wide deal with Imtech UK Ltd, as part of an ongoing deal to supply more than 100 of its commercial vehicles. The competitive tender exercise, managed by ERA Cost Management Ltd (ERAFCM), based on whole life costs across the market, saw Vauxhall come out on top to secure the deal. The 60 British-built L1H1 Vivaro Sportive Doublecabs equipped with the Euro 5 compliant 2.0CDTi (115PS) engine, offers impressive performance and fuel economy, and have also been fitted out with a plylined loading area, the company s livery and a telematics system. The vehicles will form part of a group-wide deal between Imtech UK Ltd and its subsidiaries. The 60 vans will be mainly split across Imtech Engineering Services, Inviron and Imtech Traffic & Infra servicing engineers, and will join 20 Combos and a handful of Corsavan and Movano vehicles currently on the fleet. Vauxhall Motors Achieve Investors In People Gold Award 11 th June Since achieving the prestigious Investors in People Standard across all UK sites in July 2012, Vauxhall Motors has furthered its success and recently achieved the gold award, demonstrating true commitment to its employees as well as a solid foundation of excellent practice across the organisation. Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: Congratulations to Vauxhall Motors on their fantastic gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and the organisation should be extremely proud of their achievement. Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Crowned Best Petrol Tow Car 16 th June The Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer has been recognised as the best petrol model in the annual Tow Car Awards 2014. The Insignia Sports Tourer 1.6i 16v Direct Injection Turbo (170PS) beat competitors to be awarded Best Petrol Tow Car in the prestigious awards, run jointly by The Camping and Caravanning Club, Practical Caravan magazine and What Car?. The scores took into account the car s performance while towing and driving solo, its practicality, as well as buying and owning. The Insignia Sports Tourer s turbocharged petrol engine, features Direct Injection and Start/Stop technology, helping it to achieve an impressive combined fuel economy figure of 45.6mpg and emit just 146g/km CO2. David Motton, Practical Caravan s Tow Car Editor commented: It s a much more flexible engine than most petrols, with a punchy 168bhp at the top of the rev range and 260Nm torque across a broad power band. It pulled from 30-60mph in 15.3 seconds and the engine stays quiet and smooth even when worked hard. Read more here 5

Vauxhall Lifts Konecranes Fleet to Another Level 17 th June Vauxhall has delivered 88 of its vans to Konecranes in a deal which includes its multi-award winning Combo, as well as its British-built Vivaro. The world-leading lifting equipment and services provider has taken delivery of the 88 Vauxhall vehicles, the majority being L1H1 Combo vans and L1H1 Vivaro panel vans. The Combos, fitted with the 1.3CDTi ecoflex Start/Stop engine, deliver an impressive 58.9mpg. Fitted with the Euro 5 compliant 2.0CDTi (115PS) engine, the Vivaros also offer both performance and fuel economy, while providing large and versatile storage capabilities. To further enhance vehicle usability for Konecranes, the vans have been modified by invehicle workshop conversion specialist, the Bott Group. Konecranes will be using the vans across a number of areas in its wide-reaching business operations, demanding the best balance of performance, economy and reliability. Read the full story here 6

Vauxhall Secures 1,200 UK Jobs and 185 Million Investment 23 rd June The launch of Vauxhall s all-new Vivaro in Luton has helped secure 1200 jobs following a 10- year contract and 185 million investment. Of this investment, 76 million will be invested within manufacturing facilities and 90 million in vendor tooling and special equipment. Rival, Ford shut its Transit factory in Southampton last year making Vauxhall s Luton facility the sole flag bearer for UK van manufacturing. Service firms around the country will also benefit from 600 million of new business over the life of the new Vivaro with 40 per cent of content sourced locally from UK suppliers, an increase of 60 percent from the current van. Also looking forward to a bright future is Vauxhall s other UK manufacturing plant located in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire where production of the next generation Astra compact car begins in 2015 following a creation of 1600 jobs and investment of 125 million. Vauxhall Reveals Radical Factory-test Film for New Vivaro Van 23 rd June. Vauxhall is thought to be the very first manufacturer to employ extreme test procedures in its Kimpton Road plant at Luton. The tests, which are designed to validate the agility, durability and safety of every new Vivaro van, have just been introduced and are now seen as commonplace among the 1200-strong workforce at the historic Luton factory. J-turns, handbrake turns and driving on two wheels across designated parts of the factory floor are just some of the tests that have been employed at the plant, and illustrate Vauxhall s commitment to making the New Vivaro the toughest and most driveable van on the market. The New Vivaro starts production this summer, with 40 per cent of its components coming from UK suppliers, many of whom are new to the company. Vauxhall is the largest manufacturer of LCVs in the UK, and has produced almost one million vans since the current model was launched in 2001. New Vivaro goes on sale later this year, priced from 17,995. Watch the video here Read the full story here 8

Fleet Gain is No Pane for Vauxhall 26 th June Vauxhall has successfully secured a further order of 30 award-winning Movano vans with National Windscreens, extending their fleet now to over 100 Vauxhall Movano vans. Vauxhall now has over a 50 per cent share of National Windscreens Fleet, the UK s largest independent vehicle glass replacement company; this share is likely to increase further over the next two years. The 30 additional L1H1 Movanos are powered by Vauxhall s 2.3CDTi engine, producing 100PS and providing an impressive combined fuel economy of 36.2mpg. The vans, which are liveried, include optional rear parking sensors and have been racked out internally to provide specific storage facilities for safely transporting windscreens up to the size of those fitted to the largest HGVs on the road. We originally ordered 24 Movano vans in mid-2012 and very quickly ordered 48 more in 2013 as we were impressed by the heavy-duty components and durability of the van, said Phil Lomas, Director of National Windscreens.
