Alcohol-Related Crashes: In 2016 10,497 people killed in alcoholimpaired driving crashes, up 1.7 percent from 10,320 in 2015. (any fatal crash involving a driver with a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08 percent or higher) Of persons killed in [all] traffic crashes in 2016, 28% died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. (NHTSA).
