TIP SHEET (EVO-FORT1) 80-bit Add-On Stand-Alone Remote Starter T2380 *AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES ONLY* CLICK TO WATCH THE PREPPING HARNESS VIDEO -The EVO-ALL interface module eliminates the need for a separate remote start module by using the vehicle computer to start. It will monitor the vehicle lock circuit and use the pulses generated by pressing lock 3 times on your OEM remote to start the vehicle -There are a LOT of wires in your kit, you will use very few of them. There will only be 3 connections to make between the EVO-ALL and the FORT1 T harness. There will only be 4 required connections made to your vehicle wiring. -Parking light connection is an additional option. This will require a standard SPDT relay + 2 diodes which are not included with your kit. Refer to module guide for parking light wiring info. Supply power for relay must connect directly to battery. STEP 1: Starting the installation CLICK TO WATCH INSTALL VIDEO -The bulk of the installation takes place right under the dash on the driver s side. Begin by removing the plastic panel at the bottom of the dash, above where the pedals are for easy access. Then, remove the steering column shroud. Be careful not to break the panel especially in cold weather. Locate key cylinder plugs and connect the T harness in line with each. Once unplugged, do not put key in ignition until all connections are made and plugs are occupied. 1 P a g e

2 P a g e

STEP 2: Make the connections Locate the needed wires in the plugs of the vehicle as shown in the diagram, and connect the corresponding wires from the EVO-ALL to their respective locations. Cross reference the pin locations in each plug, and wire colors to verify you are on the right wires in the vehicle. 1. Plug in the black 4-pin data link connector with no locking tab from the FOR1 T harness into the EVO-ALL. 2. Connect the light blue/black wire in the 20-pin plug of the evo-all to the light blue/black of the FORT1 T harness. 3. Connect the light blue wire in the 20-pin plug of the evo-all to the light blue wire of the FORT1 T harness. 4. Connect the yellow wire in the 20-pin plug of the evo-all, along with the purple/yellow wire in the 20-pin plug of the evo-all, to the yellow/black wire of the FORT1 T harness. 5. The yellow wire of the FORT1 T harness is not used, cap the wire off to avoid shorting. 6. Cut the green/purple driver door pin wire located in the wire harness in the driver kick panel the vehicle, this will give you 2 leads to work with, a door side and a BCM side. The green/red wire in the 20-pin plug of the EVO- ALL will connect to the BCM side, and the green/white wire in the 20-pin plug of the EVO-ALL will connect to the door side. 7. The gray/black wire in the 5-pin plug of the EVO-ALL will connect to the violet/orange wire in pin-11 of the OBDII plug of the vehicle, located under dash on driver side. 8. The gray wire in the 5-pin plug of the EVO-ALL will connect to the gray/orange wire in pin-3 of the OBDII plug of the vehicle, located under dash on driver side. Optional Wiring Connections 1. Valet Switch Your remote start kit includes a valet switch. While it is not essential to the operation of the remote start, it is a safety device that prevents the starter from accidentally engaging when not desired. Mount the valet switch in the vehicle (Requires a small screw hole. Usually put in the driver s kick panel (that s the area forward of the door), the driver s side of the center console, or the underside of the dash.) Connect one wire from the valet switch to the dark blue wire (pin A8) from the EVO-ALL 20 pin connector > and connect the second wire from the valet switch to ground 2. Parking Lights Many newer vehicles turn on lights automatically when the vehicle is running, so connecting the parking lights via the remote start has no benefit. If your vehicle does not have this feature and you wish to have the remote start turn on your parking lights, make the following connection: Connect the brown/white negative (-) parking light wire (pin A14) from the EVO-ALL 20 pin connector to a relay (not included) and the relay will connect through 2 diodes to both the vehicles positive (+) right and (+) left parking light wires located in the wire harness in the driver kick panel the vehicle. Refer to module guide for relay connection diagram and vehicle parking light wire colors. Need to know where all the components go? See Installer s Tip #1 later in this tip sheet Need to know how to make your wiring connections? See Installer s Tip #2 later in this tip sheet STEP 3: Program the EVO-ALL Programming for the EVO-ALL in vehicles listed, will accomplish 2 things: CAN data for body controls and transponder bypass programming. You will need 2 separately coded keys, copy or clone keys will not work. You must have 2 keys that will allow an additional key to be programed to the vehicle, as the EVO-ALL will be programed into the vehicle using the Ford additional key learning procedure. Do not have more than 1 key close to the key cylinder at the same time at any point in this process. You must respect the time limitations as described. Begin by having all plugs unplugged from the EVO- ALL and preform the following programming steps: 3 P a g e

STEP 4: Finish up! -Test all functions. The remote start will engage when you press the lock button on your OEM key fob 3 times in a row. -After confirming that everything works properly, cap off or tape the ends of any wires you re not using to avoid shorting. -Now gather up all the wiring and neatly bundle it together using zip ties or electrical tape to prevent the wires from interfering with any of the moving parts under the dash. -Find a secure place to put the remote start module and use zip ties to secure it. 4 P a g e

Installer s Tips: Tip #1 Where Everything Goes 1. Module the wiring for the module is done under the dash on the driver s side, so you ll want to install the module in that general area. Before you start wiring, look for a location where there s some open space that will fit the module. Pay attention to moving parts like the pedals, e-brake and steering column. Be sure to route your wiring away from those areas. 2. Valet Switch Requires a small screw hole. Usually put in the driver s kick panel (that s the area forward of the door), the driver s side of the center console, or the underside of the dash. Tip #2 How to make the wiring connections It s very important that all your wiring connections be solid and secure. All remote start connections are tap on connections. This means that you do not need to cut the wires in the car. You simply need to tap on to the wires in the car to make your connections. Do NOT use any kind of wire connectors such as t taps or scotch locks for the data connections in your vehicle; this must be a wire touching wire connection. Here are two different ways to do this: Method 1 Solder and tape This is the method preferred by the best professional installers. It makes for the most reliable connections, but it is also the most difficult to do. Sometimes there isn t enough room in the wiring harness to safely solder a wire without damaging adjacent wires, but if you have the soldering skills, go for it. To make a connection, strip back a section of the insulation on the wire in the car. On heavy gauge wires, 1 is about the right amount. On lighter gauge wires, ½ is fine. Strip 1 of insulation off the end of the remote start wire. Tin the bare section of wire in the car. Wrap the remote start wire around the tinned section and then carefully solder it in place. Wrap the splice tightly with electrical tape. Method 2 Wrap and tape This is the most popular method and is also very reliable. Strip back a section of the insulation on the wire in the car. On heavy gauge wires, 1 is about the right amount. On lighter gauge wires, ½ is fine. Strip 1 of insulation off the end of the remote start wire. Separate the strands of the wire like this: Pass the wire from the remote through the opening as shown below Wrap the remote start wire around both sides of the car wire, then back around itself as shown below Use electrical tape to wrap the connection and secure the wires together. A wire tie will help prevent the tape from unraveling in the future. Copyright 2015 Digitel LLC 5 P a g e
