Inspect Lube and Scavenge Finger Screens in accordance with GEK 97310, Volume 1, Ch. 5, 5-3.18 Inspect Magnetic Chip detectors in accordance with GEK 97310, Volume 1, Chapter 5, 5-3.18A Inspection of engine externals I.A.W. GEK 97310, Volume 1, chapter 5, 5-3.21 Inspection of igniters I.A.W. GEK 97310, Volume 1, chapter 5, 5-3.23. Summary of Overall Condition: 481-743 was found to be UNSERVICEABLE HPC: Blades viewed in dirty condition. Serviceable Combustor: Normal discoloration. Serviceable Stage 1 HPT: Unserviceable damage found to HPT stage 1 blades beyond limits of GEK 97310 Volume 1 Chapter 5, Table 5-8 Item 3e. 5 HPTN1 nozzle segments found with serviceable T/E cracks. One HPTN1 nozzle found with trailing edge erosion and crack- Unserviceable. Stage 2 HPT: Unserviceable damage found to Stage 2 HPT blades- 3 blades found with leading edge holes, 2 blades found with L/E tip tears- unserviceable IAW 97310 Volume 1, Chapter 5 Table 5-8 Items 2a and b. TMF: Strut crack found within serviceable limits. LPT: The borescope inspection was completed with the below recommendations: Page 2
Recommendations: It is recommended to send 481-743 to depot for repairs to damaged hot section components prior to further operation. It is also recommended to perform a compressor water wash to maintain compressor efficiency and power. It is recommended to repair TMF strut crack at time of hot section repair. Page 3
