Powering the accessory This accessory operates best at 12-18 volts (AC). You may choose to supply power with a separate accessory power supply or through the track using a Lionel Lockon (available separately, 6-62900) or a FasTrack Accessory Power Wire (available separately, 6-12053). Refer to Figure 1. To make the proper connections, the ends of the wires must be stripped back 1/8 to 1/4. Caution! Only an adult should perform this task. We recommend using a pair of wire strippers. Always use care when stripping wires. For FasTrack layouts. If you are using the FasTrack Accessory Power Wire to power the accessory through the track, simply connect the quick connects to the tabs on the underside of the roadbed and attach the bare ends of the wires to the thumbscrew terminals on the accessory. 1. Attach one wire to a thumbscrew terminal on the back of the accessory and connect it to the Power/A terminal on your power supply or to the #1 Lockon terminal. Note! To make the thumbscrew connections, rotate the trash can counter-clockwise, insert the bare end of the wire into the hole in the post, and tighten the thumbscrew to secure the connection. 2. Attach another wire to the remaining thumbscrew terminal and connect it to the Common/Ground/U terminal on the power supply or the #2 terminal on the Lionel Lockon. To install the pumps and the service drive, simply press the service drive tabs onto the posts on the underside of the gas station and connect the wires. Refer to Figure 2. To install the pumps without the service drive, remove the two pump screws from the underside of the platform, lift away the pumps, and attach the wire connector. You may choose to hide the wires under gravel or paving material. Refer to Figure 3. Service drive tabs Figure 2. Service drive installation Wire connection Pump screws Figure 3. Replacement lamps are available at your authorized Lionel Service Center or from Lionel Service in Chesterfield, MI. To replace the lamp that illuminates the tower, lift off the top of the tower. Locate and unscrew the expired lamp, then install the replacement. To replace a lamp inside the building, remove the Philips-head screws from the underside of the accessory. Refer to Figure 8 on page 11. Carefully lift the building off the base. Avoid tugging on the wires. Locate and unscrew the expired lamp. Install the replacement and reassemble the accessory. Note!
