AG-SB-2017-01-C-EN Protection of the measuring lines of the shunts Category C EFFECTIVE DATE 20.02.2017 SUPERSEDES/REPLACES N/A (initial issue) APPLICABILITY This Service Bulletin is applicable for following aircraft serial numbers, or in any Autogyro aircraft where a Dynon has been retrofitted: Calidus F10C07 Cavalon V00001, V00003; V00009, V00022, V00062, V00065, V00096, V00115, V00119, V00148, V00149, V00171, V00181, V00190, V00199, V00207, V00241 COMPLIANCE To be performed with the next maintenance. BACKGROUND It has been found that the two Dynon shunt current measuring lines require additional safety fuses (see Fig. 1). RISK OF NEGLECT Failure to comply with this instruction/information will result in: Possible damage to the aircraft Loss of related warranty. SCOPE OF WORK Retrofitting of two additional fuses (In Wire fuse suitable for the cable cross-section). COMPLIANCE PROCEDURE GENERAL, REFERENCES AND REQUIREMENTS The task may only be performed by an organization or individual entitled and trained to do Line maintenance. Record that the task has been undertaken within the aircraft maintenance records. Secure gyroplane against unauthorized or unintended operation. Execute procedure only with a cold engine condition. SPECIAL TOOLS, CONSUMABLE MATERIALS AND PARTS SP IMPORTANT NOTE: Procedure involves spare parts. Check parts list below for ordering details of affected components! 24-00-00-V-44243 (L1) Shunt wiring protection PRECAUTIONS AND SAFETY MEASURES CAUTION: Failure to comply with this instruction will cause the loss of warranty! PROCEDURES 1 Get access to the components by removing the engine cowlings, and inner firewall (Cavalon) 2 Disconnect the earth connection of the battery where convenient for access. 3 Disconnect both 0,35²mm cables from the shunt (see fig 1). 4 Remove the ring terminals from the cables, leaving a length of bared cable approx 5mm long. 5 Insert the bared cable into Article 44243, and crimp in place. Ensure that the crimps are secure, and then shrink the shrink sleeve with a hot-air gun. 6 Reattach the cables to the shunt, and tighten the nuts securely. 7 8 Reconnect the battery where disconnected.
