1.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 1.1 Intended use Your Door/Window Contact detects open windows and doors inconspicuously by means of an app. It causes radiators to be turned down automatically if a window is opened, and it triggers an alarm if windows and doors are opened without permission. The Door/Window contact is kept up to date once connected to the Bosch Smart Home System. The product may only be used together with original Bosch Smart Home components, and is for indoor use only. Follow the safety instructions and the directions in this manual and the Bosch Smart Home App to ensure that the product is set up correctly Please note the details in the Technical Data section (see p. 40) Avoid installing in areas prone to high amounts of dust, direct sunshine or heat Do not modify the product in any way. Any other use is considered unintended use. We will not assume liability for any resulting damage. 8 9

5.0 INSTALLATION AND SETUP Before you start Please ensure that you have a Bosch Smart Home Controller and the Bosch Smart Home App, and that you have set both of them up successfully. 5.1 Installation Start the Bosch Smart Home App and select Add device. 5.2 Inserting the batteries Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure they are installed in the correct orientation. Then close the battery compartment again. 5.3 Configuring the device Confirm the batteries have been inserted in the app. The Door/Window Contact will now try to connect to your Controller. The Door/Window Contact s LED indicates the status of the configuration attempt using the following flash codes: If the device is not able to establish a connection to the Controller within 3 minutes, the configuration mode is ended. To start the configuration mode again, please press the system button on the Door/Window Contact. 6.0 FIXING 6.1 Mounting location Do not fit your Door/Window Contact to the hinge side of the window! It could be damaged when the window is opened. Please fit the Door/Window Contact with the LED facing down. The magnet to the upper part of the window frame unit is fitted to the window sash. 24 25

6.2 Mounting instruction Make sure that the Door/Window Contact and the magnet unit are flush (using the enclosed spacer where necessary) and that the bottom edges are level. If correctly aligned, the LED will flash briefly. The bottom edges of the devices should be level with each other. max. 8 mm The distance between magnet unit and Door/Window Contact must be no more than 8 mm. The Door/Window Contact and the magnet unit can be glued or screwed to the window. Instructions on how to do so on the following pages. Maintain the minimum distance to the surroundings (1.5 cm) when mounting the Door/Window Contact so that it can still be slid together. 26 27

6.3 Fixing with adhesive tape Mounting the Door/Window Contact Fit the adhesive strip to the rear side of the Door/Window Contact s bottom section and peel off the second protective film Place the Door/Window Contact in the required position on the window frame and firmly press in place Maintain the minimum distance to the surroundings (1.5 cm) when mounting the Door/Window Contact so that it can still be slid together. Observe the mounting instructions on pages 26 and 27. Rear side 28 29

Mounting the magnet unit with spacer Fit the adhesive strip to the rear side of the spacer and peel off the second protective film Place the spacer at the required position on the window frame and firmly press on the spacer Put the magnet unit on the spacer If everything is correctly aligned, the LED in the device will flash briefly. Mounting the magnet unit without spacer Open the lid of the magnet unit Hold the magnet unit in the required position on the window sash and mark the positions for the drill holes Drill the holes Position the magnet unit over the holes and screw the magnet unit onto the window frame. 7.0 MAINTENANCE AND CARE The product is maintenance-free. Repairs should only be performed by qualified persons. Clean the product with a soft clean dry and lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents. Incorrect handling (see notes on intended use) or non-observance of hazard warnings may compromise the protection afforded by the device. 40 41
