GMM sincon Güntner Info Güntner Motor Management for AC fans with frequency converter and all-pole sine filter Intelligence for condensers and drycoolers with AC fans
GMM sincon Güntner Motor Management for AC fans Why GMM sincon? For one heat exchanger usually several motors are assembled to one group. This multiple motor operation (parallel circuiting) with one frequency converter always bears a high risk potential for the fan motors. Through-currents endanger the bearings and the winding in the motor can be damaged by voltage peaks. Only with appropriate additional measures, such as an all-pole sine filter, these risks can be excluded. The GMM sincon reduces precisely these through-currents and voltage peaks and ensures consequently a reliable system operation. Why an all-pole sine filter? Unlike most sine filters available on the market, the sincon filter is equipped with an all-pole filter function. This important function is not only active between the phases, but also between phase and ground. Exactly this filter function is necessary for preventing damage on the external rotor motors and thus for achieving longest possible motor service life. The GMM sincon consists of three components: These components are adjusted to one another and thus allow for energetically optimised operation. Pressure sensor P ler Power supply BUS Communication GMM sincon = + Frequency Converter + All-Pole Sine Filter led Voltage T Temperature sensor Fans Application Benefits: - Energy cost reduction - Reduced costs for installation - Reduction of commissioning and maintenance costs - Improved operational reliability of installation - Bus interface: Data exchange by integration in superordinate systems (remote maintenance) - Maximum service life of fans - Condensers: Condensing pressure control for stable pressure ratios in the refrigeration cycle - Display for more transparency (operating and fault messages) - Low-noise operation of heat exchanger
Three Functions for Your Benefit System Manager and Monitoring The controller monitors all operation-relevant components. These are e.g. the thermal contacts of the fans but also the power electronics and switch cabinet components. And if a power component has to be exchanged in case of service, all parameters are automatically transferred to the new power units and the system s operation simply continues. Process ler The GMM sincon controls the speed of the fans according to pressure or temperature, controls processes and thus creates an energy-optimised heat exchanger system. For the refrigerant pressure control of condensers, the refrigerant can be selected and thus the condensing pressure and the condensing temperature can be displayed. The GMM sincon offers communication interfaces to superordinate control systems. It shows all operation-relevant information on the display and makes this information available for super-ordinate systems via bus system or standard interface. The communication functionality increases the reliability and transparency of system operation. GMM Customer System GMM GMM
Different Operating Modes for Flexible Use Automatic control of GMM with PID: 1.) Automatic control to internally set setpoint. 2.) Automatic control to setpoint that is preset via analogue input. 3.) Automatic control to setpoint that is preset via BUS. Slave signal of super-ordinate control: 1.) No independent control is active the control value that is preset via analogue input is converted to a rotating field and is communicated directly to the fans (slave signal). 2.) No independent control is active the control value that is preset via BUS is converted to a rotating field and is directly communicated to the fans (slave signal). GMM sincon Increases Operation Reliability With condensers, the GMM sincon creates stable pressure ratios in the refrigeration cycle and thus increases the operational reliability of the installation. All operation-relevant components of the installation are monitored permanently. In the event of an operating fault, the system switches automatically to emergency mode. This bypass operation is an option and can be activated and set in the plain text display of the GMM.
What are the Benefits of the GMM sincon? and Noise reduction The system is operated energy-efficiently due to the integrated pressure and temperature control. Also the control induced noise development is reduced to a minimum with the high clock rate of the power unit. Maximum Service Life of Fans With the GMM sincon the service life of the insulating system and the bearing of the fans is the same or longer than with mains operation. Characteristics of the Sine Filter Very Good Fan Concentricity With sinusoidal motor voltage a very good fan synchronisation is possible. Consequently the bearings are stressed only to a minimum. Very Low Speeds Possible (from 0.5 Hz) With the continuous sine voltage, the motors in the low speed range can create sufficient torque. Thus the heat exchanger can still be operated in control mode also for very low capacity requirements. Low Emitted Interference Due to the sinusoidal output voltage, the GMM sincon has a very low emitted interference. Thus cables without special shielding can be used. Also the cable lengths can be much longer than with frequency converters without sine filter. And also without shielded cables, all requirements can be complied with in acc. with EMC (= Electromagnetic Compatibility). Motor is not overheated No additional heating of the motor, due to not sinusoidal voltage, is prevented and thus the service life of the motor is increased. No stress on winding insulation Voltage peaks, that could reduce the service life of the motor windings due to flashover voltage, are prevented with the frequency converter with all-pole sine filter. Maximum service life of motor bearings Maximum service life of motor bearings is achieved with the reduction to a minimum of the through-currents in the bearing. Characteristics of the Frequency Converter Low charging current peaks Input surge current limitations, that are prescribed for larger units by the electric power companies, are standard for the GMM sincon from the smallest unit size up. Cos f always > 0.95 for EPC mains With the GMM sincon a Cos f > 0.95 is attained. Consequently almost no reactive power is generated, so reactive power compensation is not necessary. Low noise emissions Due to the high clock rate of the power unit (16 khz) no control-induced noise emissions occur with the GMM sincon. These emissions are reduced to a minimum. Special Functions for Refrigeration Systems The GMM sincon is equipped with specific functions that have been developed especially for the use in refrigeration applications. - 5 different operating modes for refrigeration engineering - Externally predefined setpoint via analogue input or bus system from super-ordinate control system - Night setback (noise control) - signal preset by super-ordinate control system (slave mode) - Commutation between heating and cooling mode (heat pump operation or heat recovery) - Setpoint shift acc. to ambient temperature conditions - Threshold value switching Connection and wiring Also in this point the GMM sincon offers great benefits compared to standard frequency converters. With the sinusoidal output voltage you have the following benefits: Very long motor cables can be used without adverse effects on the EMC (=electromagnetic compatibility). No shielded cables or metal terminal boxes with metal screw connections have to be used. Shielded (and expensive) motor cables are not necessary. No second earth terminal at the motor is required, because only negligible leakage current flows to the motor. No special conditions have to be observed for the air flow and leakage current paths in the motor terminal boxes. Errors excepted. Subject to technical amendments without prior notice.
