Encore Models NPA, NPB and NPC are used to dispense diesel fuel from one hose and DEF from the other hose. Models NA, NPA, NPB and NPC are shipped from from Gilbarco as a complete dispenser. Gilbarco Model "ENC DEF RF" is a DEF upgrade kit consisting of the referenced DEF module shown in the attached photographs. These retrofit kits are intended to be added (field installed) to the manufactures Encore series fuel dispensers. One or two DEF kits may be added to any Gilbarco Encore model approved in CoC 02-019. DEF is a mixture of urea and water and is used to reduce diesel exhaust emissions. DEF is not an engine fuel. DEF must not be mixed with diesel fuel or engine damage will occur. Volumetric accuracy should be verified using a stainless-steel prover and this prover only used to test DEF to prevent contamination of engine fuels. Identification: The identification badge, a self-destructive badge is located behind the locked main door. Optional features are indicated on the identification plate. A self-destructive identification badge for the DEF field upgrade module is on the DEF module beside the DEF Nozzle boot. A supplemental label is provided to update the original dispenser s model number when the DEF field upgrade kit is added. Sealing: The Encore Series device has no remote configuration capability and is classified as a Category 1 device. Access to all metrological features and functions are controlled through the use of a sealable security switch. The security switch has two positions, "normal/sealed" and "calibration/configuration." When the security switch is in the "calibration/configuration" position, sealable parameters including meter calibration, gallon/liter settings, and blend ratio settings can be accessed. Access to sealable parameters is prevented by placing the security switch in the "normal/sealed" position and threading a wire security seal through the cover, which fits over the security switch. The wire security seal must be broken in order to lift the hinged cover and to move the security switch to the "calibration/configuration" position. The security switch and Manager's keypad are located behind the locked main options door. Access to the security switch and Manager's keypad requires opening the options door. This seal is also used to calibrate the Coriolis meter. The Coriolis meter located in the side column of the dispenser is additional provided with a sealing means. The meter consists of 2 main components with matching serial numbers, the sealed (welded) measuring chamber and the electronics module. The Electronics module has 2 access covers; the smaller cover is used to access power and date wiring and is not provided with a sealing means. The larger cover is used to access metrological aspects of the meter and is provided with a sealing means. The seal on this larger cover must be broken, the cover removed, an internal cover removed and internal wiring disconnected in order to remove the electronics module from the measuring chamber. Encore "S" series may also have a user provided lock that must be accessed. The locked lower hydraulics door must be removed to access the user provided lock. This locks a "tool box" type latch that secures the main door. To access features located behind the main door first remove the lower hydraulics door, then unlatch the main door's "tool box" latch, then open the main door. The main door is secured with a lock / key and the lock is located on the left side of the door. The Manager's keypad is secured to a metal "Vault" that prevents access to the keypad without opening the main door. These changes are required to deter unauthorized assess to the unit that may result in undetected fraudulent activities. Electronic Calibration (E-cal): Access to the electronic calibration feature is through the security switch described above. With the switch in the "calibration/configuration" position, a calibration code and the volume of the volumetric standard are entered into the keypad next to the security switch. Product is then dispensed into the standard, a delivery error is determined in cubic inches, and the error value is entered into the keypad. The security switch is then returned to the normal operating ("normal/sealed") position and the switch cover is sealed with a wire security seal. Sealing Continued: Gallon/Liter Setting: Access to the gallon/liter setting is through the security switch described above. With the switch in the "calibration/configuration" position, a conversion factor is used to program all Encore Series dispensers to indicate in gallons or liters. Gallon/Liter setting information can also be viewed without entering the configuration mode. With the switch in the
Page of 11 "normal/sealed" position, the number of times that the conversion factor has been changed since the initial installation can be displayed in the main "Volume" display by pressing "ENTER" on the manager's keypad. Press any other key to revert to the normal display. See "examples" shown below. Operation: Units equipped with the Endress & Hauser LPGmassDN15 Coriolis meter are approved to dispenser Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). This Coriolis meter is located in the side column and is provided with a sealing means. Calibration of the meter is through the use of the Gilbarco calibration switch. Page 10 of 11 Test Conditions: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance No. 09-06A2 and is issued to expand the scope of models that the DEF retrofit kits may be installed. The market for DEF has expanded and the need to provide DEF for diesel automobiles light duty diesel trucks is growing. Model ENC-DEF-RF DEF retrofit kit may be installed on any Gilbarco Encore series model noted in CoC 02-019. Up to 2 of these kits may be installed providing DEF to both sides of the dispenser. No additional testing was deemed necessary as all components in the ENC-DEF-RF DEF retrofit kit have been previously tested. Previous test conditions are listed below for reference. Certificate of Conformance Number 09-06A2: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance No. 09-06A1 and is issued noting the addition of a new Gilbarco Encore diesel with DEF dispenser model NPC. Model NPC is a Gilbarco Ultra Hi 2- product (diesel), single sided unit (NP6) with the DEF module (Model ENC-DEF-RF) added. Model NP6 is approved under NTEP CC 02-019A21. The DEF module ENC-DEF-RF is approved under NTEP CC 09-06A1. The DEF module may be added as a field upgrade kit to Gilbarco Model NP6 dispensers. Removes Encore 00S from model family, adds Encore 700S to model family (based on NTEP CC 02-019A21). No additional testing was deemed necessary as all components in the new model (NPC) have been previously tested. Certificate of Conformance Number 09-06A1: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance number 09-06 and is issued noting the addition of a new Gilbarco DEF field upgrade kit. This kit will allow customers with Gilbarco Encore Ultra-Hi series diesel dispensers (Models NP or NP) to add a Gilbarco DEF module model ENC-DEF-RF to existing Gilbarco Encore Ultra Hi diesel dispensers. This DEF module was previously evaluated under NTEP CC 09-06. The DEF module with all components may be added to Gilbarco Encore models: NP, NP, (Ref. NTEP CC 02-06) at the field site by authorized Gilbarco service providers. When adding the DEF module to an existing Encore Diesel dispenser, an ID badge on the retrofit kit indicates the DEF upgrade kits model and serial number. This new label will also state that this dispenser has been modified by adding a Gilbarco DEF Module ENC-DEF- RF Gilbarco will also provide a new supplemental ID badge which will be added to the Encore dispenser adjacent to the dispensers existing ID badge located inside the units electronic enclosure. This new supplemental ID badge will state that this dispenser has been modified by adding a Gilbarco DEF Module (ENC-DEF-RF). The new model number NPA or NPB is covered under NTEP CC 09-06. The supplemental ID badge will allow W&M officials to see both the original and supplemental marking labels. The original ID badge contains additional information needed by service companies and other regulatory officials. W&M's officials should note that the dispenser s original serial number remains the same and two products Diesel and DEF will need to be tested. The addition of this DEF module does not invalidate the certificate on the existing unit. No additional testing was deemed necessary as all components in the DEF module were previously tested under NTEP CC 09-06. The manufacturer updated the photo of the Diesel and DEF dispenser. Certificate of Conformance Number 09-06: This certificate is issued for a Gilbarco Encore Model NA, NPA and NPB noting a new Coriolis meter, Endress & Hauser LPG mass DN15 for Encore 500. The dispenser with the new Coriolis meter was evaluated and tested at the manufacturer's facility using the 2009 edition of NCWM Publication 1 as the basis for the evaluation. The meter was placed into the manufacturer's Encore series dispenser for testing. Reference NTEP CC 02-019A1 for all prior testing of all features and options. Emphasis of this test was to assure that the new meter communicated accurately with the Encore series electronics, that the Encore electronics could calibrate the meter and that the combination of the new meter and Encore electronics was stable and accurate. Volumetric accuracy testing was done at 5 flow rates (1,, 5, 7 10 GPM) with a minimum of drafts per flow rates for both the initial and subsequent test. The meter was retested after having dispensed 2090 gallons of DEF. It is noted that the DEF dispenser is provided with a heater to prevent the DEF from freezing and damaging the meter, valves, piping etc. While provided with a heater, DEF is not a heated product. The heater only works at the temperature approaching the DEF freezing point. The unit is also provided with a means to not allow or to stop DEF product flow if the DEF product temperature reached a temperature that is beyond the ability of the heater to maintain the product temperature i.e. power outage during a very cold period. This feature was tested. Evaluated By: J. Butler, A. Katalinic (NC) 09-06; J. Butler (NC) 09-06A1, J. Butler (NC) 09-06A2, A.
