(Continued) 2. Locate Canister Closed Valve (CCV) VV as shown in Figure 2 (or refer to the Technical ystem [TI] and the FI section of applicable Manual). Figure 2 Canister Closed Valve VV 3. Using the Diagnostic Tester Active Test, switch the Canister Closed Valve VV (CAN CTRL VV) to ON using the arrow keys. 4. Does the Canister Closed Valve VV make a click noise when switched to ON? YE " Go to Test VV for Vacuum Leaks (page 5 of this TB). NO " Go to tep 5. 5. Is the wiring harness connector properly connected to the Canister Closed Valve VV? YE " Go to tep 6. NO " Fix the connector, then return to tep 3. 6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector for the Canister Closed Valve VV. 7. Using a DVOM test at Pin to a known good ground. Is battery voltage (B+) present at Pin of the Canister Closed Valve VV connector when the CAN CTRL VV ACTIVE TET is switched to ON? YE " Go to tep 8. NO " Perform diagnosis of power circuit. 8. Using a DVOM test at Pin 2 to a known good ground. Is there continuity to ground at Pin 2 of the Canister Closed Valve VV connector when the CAN CTRL VV ACTIVE TET is switched to ON? YE " Replace the Canister Closed Valve VV. NO " Perform diagnosis of ground circuit. Page 4 of 5
(Continued) Test VV for Vacuum Leaks. Locate the vacuum hose going from charcoal canister to the Canister Closed Valve VV. 2. Remove vacuum hose from the Canister Closed Valve VV and connect a hand--held vacuum pump using a short length of vacuum hose. 3. Apply at least 0 mm Hg vacuum to the VV (the vacuum should not hold). Is a vacuum held? YE " Replace the Canister Closed Valve VV. NO " Go to tep 4. 4. Using the Diagnostic Tester Active Test, switch the Canister Closed Valve VV (CAN CTRL VV) to ON using the arrow keys. Apply at least 0 mm Hg vacuum to the VV. Is a vacuum held for at least minute? YE " Go to tep 5. NO " Replace the Canister Closed Valve VV. 5. Disconnect the hand--held vacuum pump and reconnect the vacuum hose from the canister to the Canister Closed Valve VV. 6. Continue diagnosis of the EVAP system. Reference TB EG005-0, EVAP ystem Operation. Page 5 of 5
