Technical Data 0.1. Make (manufacturer trading name): KOPR 0.2. Type and trading mark of product: RAP7 0.3. Name and address of manufacturer: KOPR s.r.o. Kněžmost 170 Sokolská 294 02 Kněžmost, Czech Republic
II. Technical Report 1. Product Characteristics The RAP7 Quick Fittings provide connection of polyamide tubes, sizes 6x1, 8x1, 10x1, 12x1.5, and 15x1.5, to each instrument using inner or outer thread in road vehicle air brake systems. Operating pressure from 0.2 to 2.1 MPa and operating temperature from -40 to +80 C as well as other parameters specified by the manufacturer in TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS and INSTRUCTIONS OF USE, respectively, have to be observed. The operation medium is air or other fluid permitted by the manufacturer. Applications with different technical conditions are subject to approval by the manufacturer. 2. Technical Requirements ECE Regulation 132. DEFINITION 2.3. Brake Equipment a system of parts to decelerate or stop a road vehicle s travel or keep it still. These functions are further described in paragraph 5.1.2. Brake equipment comprises an actuating device (actuator), brake transmission, and brake proper. 2.5. Transmission a system of parts between the actuating device and brake that connects the two functionally. Transmission may be mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric or hybrid. 5. REQUIREMENTS 5.1. General 5.1.1. Brake Equipment 5.1.1.1. Brake Equipment shall be designed, manufactured and installed in such a way that under normal operating conditions the vehicle complies with provisions of this Regulation, even under vibrations it may be exposed to. 5.1.1.2. Brake Equipment shall especially be designed, manufactured and installed so that it resists corrosion and aging process it is subject to. 3. Inspection of Meeting Requirements Inspection of the manufacturer s designs, serial production, assembly, product testing, quality control a document control has been carried out for the purpose of verifying whether the above requirements are met. Date of Inspection September 3, 2001 Location KOPR s.r.o. Kněžmost 713 Prosečská, 468 04 Jablonec nad Nisou 7 Czech Republic
3.1. Inspection of Manufacturing Process Company structure, production structure and capacity were presented at the beginning of this part of the inspection. Further, the range of products to be inspected along with their applications in road vehicles brake systems were presented. Inspection of the production was carried out from the receiving inspection, via production itself, production inspection of items before assembly, assembly and testing for tightness, strength, and proper operation, to packaging and identification of finished products. Further, inspection of the metrological system was carried out. The company s quality system was presented and inspected. The following was established: Production input materials and components, items before assembly and assembled parts in each production batch are properly identified and date stamped in the production process. Inspection Instructions, which indicate dimensions to be inspected and inspection frequency, are available for each production item in correspondence with its drawing(s). Finished products are subject to Routine Test specified in Test Manual. Further, all parameters of the fittings are periodically tested on parts selected in random in Inspection Test. The Batch Dispatch Report shows the batch number and date, part number and name, quantity of parts and input material. The sequence of documents Invoice, Batch Dispatch Report, Bar Stock Delivery Note provide customer with reverse product identifiability. 3.2. Inspection of Documentation Detailed inspection of the documentation specified below was carried out in order to check compliance with requirements mentioned in paragraph 2 of this Certificate from the point of view of the materials used in production in relation to operating media, climatic resistance, strength, resistance against vibrations, as well as verification of proper operation and of stability of manufacturing process quality. Drawing Documents: These are maintained properly. Drawing originals are systematically archived, identified with the date of issue, order number and name, and they are updated with revisions. Sets of registered copies updated with revisions are used in production. Technical Specifications: General Technical Specifications are available. They show the operating pressure, temperature ranges within climatic resistance of materials used, tightening torque recommendations, resistances against operating media (pressure air, water, engine oil, gear oil, petrol or gasoline, kerosene, and naphtha) and methods of disposal. This document also incorporates RAP73 and RAP74 Characteristics, Instructions of Use, and RAP Fittings Identification. The manufacturer as Seller and each customer as Buyer sign properly identified, registered Technical Specifications and Terms of Acceptance that include the following paragraphs:
General: description and use of product, non-infringement of patents in force, identification in documentation and on product. Technical Requirements: performance, dimensions, features, service life. Testing: general requirements, test and measurement conditions, inspection of mechanical parameters and performance, inspection of electrical parameters, inspection tests, test records. Shipments and Acceptance of Shipments: delivery and receiving inspection. Packaging, Transport, Storage Final Provisions: sample purchase order, information on installation in vehicle, warranty, list of appendices. RAP 7 Fittings Test Manual The fittings are tested at 20±5 C and 40 to 80% of relative humidity, except for the temperature change resistance test.
Carried out: 1. Routine test: Tightness, strength, and operation on all parts. 2. Inspection test: Complete set of fittings parameters on parts selected in random periodically in order to check the level of stability in the industrial process and quality of input materials. Stages: selection of samples, inspection of dimensions, routine test, tube pullout test, temperature change resistance test, operation repeatability test, connection strength test, durability test. 3.3. Summary Pursuant to inspections carried out as in 2.1 and 2.2 of this Certificate and pursuant to long-term testing of the RAP7 fittings in brake systems of vehicles in operation, it has been verified that they are designed, manufactures, and installed in such a manner that they comply with requirements specified in paragraphs 5.1.1.1 and 5.1.1.2 of ECE Regulation 13.09*. The manufacturer s technical and installation requirements must be observed when installed in a vehicle. * They thus also comply with equivalent requirements of paragraphs 2.1.1.1 and 2.1.12 of Appendix 1 to Directive 98/12/EU.
