FLANGED FULL BORE MBV BALL VALVE, SERIES M1 FOR PN RATINGS 1 M1 20 Issue 4/99 DESIGN FEATURES Size range DN... 300. For larger sizes, DN 350-400, select series MP, MA, or MT. PN 10, 16, and 40. Pressure classes Tightness Separate ball and shaft assure good tightness even with metal seats, at low shut-off pressure. Bubble tight shut-off with soft seats. Versions, details Neles Controls has extended the scope of the flanged ball valve series of MBV. The latest addition M1, is designed particularly for the metric PN pressure ratings. Valve design follows the ISO-standards and all threadings are metric. The construction uses same valve internals as earlier developed MA, MT-series. The proven special shaft/ball joint enables M1 to be used in the most demanding applications and also assures tight shut-off even with the lowest pressure differentials. The material and seat selection of M1 makes it possible to choose the most suitable M1 combination according to customers specification. Applications Pulp mill applications: Digesters and fiberlines Liquor service Chemical recovery Sludge treatment TMP-plants. Deinking and recycling plants. Paper mill applications. Other process industry applications V-ring gland packing ensures long maintenance-free operation. Spiral wound body joint gasket. TA-Luft packing option. Q-trim option. Scraping seat as standard, can be locked. Splined ball/shaft connection for good torque transmission. Internals (ball, ball seats, body inserts) are equal and interchangeable with the series MP, MA, and MT. Metric threading Full bore High C v per nominal size. Straight ball opening means low flow resistance. True full bore ball (cylindrical flow path). Minimized emissions Uninterrupted circular spiral wound body gasket. No bending forces to gland packing. N E L E S C O N T R O L S ACTUATOR SELECTION MBV-valve can be equipped with the following Neles Controls actuator types: B1C/B1 Pneumatic double acting or spring return actuator. Actuators available for size range DN - 300. DC/D Pneumatic double acting or spring return actuator. Actuators are available for size range DN - 40 as standard. Other sizes per request. M M-series manual gear operator for valve sizes DN -0. LK Hand lever for valve sizes DN -100. When selecting other than Neles Controls actuators please contact your local Neles Controls representative. For the correctactuator selection you need to know the following process data: - valve size and seat type - supply pressure for the actuator - maximum operating differential pressure over the valve in closed position Actuators are selected from the tables the following way - left hand column shows the valve size - on the top line the possible actuator alternatives are shown - the instrument air supply pressure is in the left column Note! there are four possibilities; 3, 4, 5 and 6 bar in doubleacting actuators. - in the area marked with darker blue colour the maximum possible operating pressure differential values are given. Actuators shall be chosen so that the operating pressure differential in pipeline does not exceed the values given in the tables. Note! Extremely difficult mediums (MC-pulp, black, green and white liquor) must be taken in account separately.
