PRECAUTIONS To installate, safety pin in hook should be fixed to prevent dropping out from lift eye bolt. Check the scale s stability. Do not subject the scale to sudden temperature changes. Escape from direct sunlight and vibrated place. Avoid from the shock of extreme excessive weight. Keep in a dry place and liquid free environment. Use away from sources of electrical noise. 4 5
PREFACE Thank you for purchasing our hoist scale model CASTON. The CASTON is the product of years of design, development, and in-field testing. This CASTON has been designed with CAS reliability, under rigid quality control and with outstanding performance. This manual will help you with the proper operation and care of this product. Please keep it hand for future reference. LOW BATTERY LAMP: Indicates that battery is low and must be changed soon. KEYBOARD WEIGHT DISPLAY KEY FUNCTIONS KEYS FUNCTIONS ON Used to turn the scale on. OFF Used to turn the scale off. HOOK ZERO TARE Resets scale to zero. Used to enter a tare weight. kg / lb Used to changes from pounds to kilograms and vice versa. 6 7
ON / OFF ZERO TARE kg / lb REMOTE CONTROLLER Remote Control ON/OFF: Does not turn scale OFF, only saves power by pausing display. ZERO: Same as keyboard. TARE: Same as keyboard. kg/lb: Same as kg/lb key of keyboard. OPERATION Press the ON key located in front of the scale. The scale will perform self test on the WEIGHT DISPLAY and will be ready for weighing when ZERO LAMP is on. (While the power is off, the ON/OFF key on the remote controller wouldn t operate.) Use the ON/OFF key on the remote controller when the power is on. HOOK should be empty. USE OF BATTERY Open the battery lid located in back of the scale. Separate the battery connector and take out the discharged battery. Put a charged battery in rear and connect the battery connector. Cover the battery lid. FUNCTIONS & DESCRIPTIONS 1. ZERO FUNCTION Used to correct drifted zero value when the scale is unloaded (User selected within 2% of the maximum capacity), and motion is not detected. This function works when ZERO key is pressed, and the ZERO LAMP is on. Example) If the weight has drifted you can press ZERO key to bring back to zero. 20kg on weight display will go to 0kg when you press the ZERO key. BATTERY CONNECTOR CAL S / W 2. SETTING TARE WEIGHT FUNCTION Used to weigh with a tare. After hanging a weight to be tared on the HOOK, press the TARE key. Then the scale will memorize the weight of the tare and will display zero value 0 kg. The NET LAMP will be on. After the NET LAMP is on, if you weigh something then the scale displays weight of item minus the weight of the tare. To cancel this function, remove everything from the HOOK and the thing, and press the TARE key. Then the NET LAMP will be off and this function is terminated. Note: The sum weight of the tare and any item on HOOK cannot exceed maximum capacity. 3. FUNCTION OF REMOTE CONTROL Key function of remote control are the same as those of the scale key board. 8 9
USE OF BATTERY CHARGER PRODUCT SIZE Check the voltage of battery charger before use. Insert charger A.C cord into the power source and connect the discharged battery to the connector. Turn ON the switch on the battery charger, charging will start. You can check charging condition with red L.E.D in CHARGER. When red L.E.D is off, this means that it is fully charged.
