Weishaupt oil burners Sizes 0 to 70 1/00 CA

Description Weishaupt burners of sizes 0 to 70 were specially designed and developed for industrial applications. The Monoblock-Burners are characterized with multiple excellent features such as: Big firing range and wide area of applications Stable air fan performance excellent combustion characteristics Burner casing can be swung opened Easy to install, setup and maintenance Air damper closed off during burner stop Oil pump and electric oil heater is standard for heavy oil burners Control Control of air and fuel is performed according to the fuel type, burner size and requirement: Two and three stage Oil burners have a nozzle assembly with two or three nozzles. The capacity regulation is controlled by opening or closing the oil solenoid valves and with corresponding changes in air amount. Sliding two stage On sliding two stage regulation, the low fire and high fire points are assigned within the control range. The burner slides depending on heat requirement between both operating points. There is no sudden increase or decrease of supplied fuel amount. Modulation Modulating burners operate according to the heat requirement at any operating point within the control range. Fuel air ratio The regulation of fuel to air ratio varies depending on the burner model: Size 0 Burner models RL and RMS: Pressure side air regulation via ratio controlled sliding sleeve in the mixing head. Burner models L and MS: Pressure side air regulation via adjustable flame tube according to the firing rate. Sizes 0 to 70 Burner models RL and RMS: Pressure side air regulation via ratio controlled sliding sleeve in the mixing head. Burner models L and MS: Diffuser disc according to burner capacity Increased safety via shut off assembly with solenoid valve A proven safety shut off assembly in the nozzle head of oil burner models R... (except RL0) cuts off the oil flow directly at the nozzle during precirculation and when the burner shuts down. Electromagnetic clutch Electromagnetic clutches are available as an option for RL oil burners with post purge (see Special Equipment). Oil circulation on heavy oil burners On heavy oil burners, preheated oil is circulated through the oil lines. This way at the ignition point, the oil in the nozzles has already the correct temperature. Precise oil temperature regulation with Weishaupt oil preheaters Heavy oil burners are equipped with oil preheaters which keep the temperature and thus the viscosity of the oil at the required, predetermined level. This results in uniform atomization and combustion quality. Digital combustion management W-FM100 and W-FM00 combustion manager controls all essential burner functions, e.g. fuel and air supply and monitors the flame with digital precision. The target is optimization of operating conditions, maximization of economical aspect and minimizing the emissions. Thanks to the digital combustion technology, such optimization is available today at reasonable cost. Expenses for installation and maintenance are even clearly lower than with conventional technologies. For example, a separate remote panel is no longer required for burner control. Furthermore, remote operation, remote diagnostic and remote monitoring of the appliances are now realizable. This increases the safety and comfort for operator. Applications The burners can be used with heat exchangers such as hot water boilers, steam boilers, air heaters, and for certain process applications. Due to the fact that the burner is capable of overcoming high combustion chamber pressure, they are most compatible with modern high performance boilers. Fuels Oil section Light oil (# oil), viscosity 6mm /s at 68F (0 C) Medium to heavy oil (# to #6) with viscosity up to 0mm /s at 1F (100 C) Installation sites In standard version (materials, construction, protection), the burners are suitable for use indoors at temperatures between F (-1 C) and 100F (+0 C) and with a maximum relative humidity of 80%. Certification The burners are in compliance with most applicable European and North American standards Outstanding service Weishaupt has a high density sales and service network all over the world. The customer service is available every day around the clock. Optimum in house training conditions ensure high quality of service personnel.

The advantages of digital combustion management Control and Display Unit Digital combustion management means optimal combustion figures, continually reproducible setting figures and ease of use. Weishaupt burners are equipped with electronic ratio controller and digital combustion management to satisfy the requirements of modern combustion technology, which demand a precise and continuously reproducible supply of fuel and combustion air. Only in this way optimal combustion figures can be ensured over extended periods of time. If required, the burners can also be equipped with O trim* and variable speed control. Error free operation via AZL display and control unit Setting and control of the burner functions are achieved using a control and display unit, the AZL, which is equipped with an LCD display. The AZL is connected to the combustion manager via a safety bus system and can be positioned anywhere according to the user s preferences within ft. (100 m) distance from the burner. Flexible communication possibilities The integrated communication interface enables all necessary information and functions to be transmitted to a BMS system. If required, remote operation and remote diagnosis functions, which are accessible via modem, can be installed (e.g. oil/gas change-over, adjustment of setting values). Communication with external systems via Bus. If data has to be exchanged between burners and other heating systems with PLC devices, the information can be accessible via ebus or MODBUS communication system. Integration with building management For control and management functions, Weishaupt offers ProGraf NT - a software product that provides a real time solution to meet all requirements. The price advantage of new technology With improved technology and ease of use, combustion plant is becoming even more economical than ever before. No additional burner controls are required, since this function is already governed by the combustion manager. Fuses and burner motor starter are the only additional items required. Less installation work means less errors: the burners are tested as a complete unit at the factory. If required, the W-FM 100 is available with an integrated modulating controller and variable speed module. No separate equipment is required. The modulating controller and variable speed module are included as standard with the W-FM 00. Commissioning and service work takes less time. The initial presetting of the burner is carried out at the factory. On site, only the site specific operating points have to be adjusted. To facilitate O trim, only an O probe and O module have to be installed and connected with the W-FM 00 via the internal safety bus. * In conjunction with the W-FM 00 combustion manager

Proven quality in detail Increased safety via shut off assembly with solenoid valve The electromagnetic actuated safety shut off device isolates the oil supply and return on burner models RL0 to 70 and RMS0 to 70 when the burner shuts down. Oil shut off directly at the nozzle ensures a drip free burner shut down. (Burner model RL0 uses a system without nozzle shut off). Considerable noise reduction due to sound absorbing air inlet Cut-away of a nozzle shut of assembly By utilizing sound absorbing materials on the fan suction side it has been possible to reduce operational noise considerably. Pressure side air regulation via mixing head with ratio controlled sliding sleeve Cut-away of the fan housing The forward and reverse movements of the regulating sleeve in the mixing head ensure that the air supply gap is correct at every operating point throughout the capacity range. This results in optimum velocities over the whole range of regulation. With this system, the mixing pressure is increased at low fire, improving the mixing effect of fuel and air. This results in a reduction in excess air and improved combustion efficiency due to the constant air/fuel ratio. Pump and preheater stations Description Scope of delivery - pump stations Pump unit (screw spindle pump with motor), pressure gauge, vacuum gauge, pressure regulating valve, ball valves, suction flange, pressure flange including counter flanges, screws and washers, suction-side filter. All parts fully assembled on an oil drip tray. The pump station is available in two different versions - either as a single station unit with one pump, or as a twin station unit with two pumps, one pump being a backup unit. Should one of the pump fail, it is possible to quickly switch over to the other one. Only proven makes of pump are used. The pumps are carefully matched to the capacity of the burner. Scope of delivery - preheater stations Preheater stations are supplied fully assembled on an oil drip tray. The preheater ensures a constant oil temperature and as result, the appropriate viscosity of the fuel oil. There are two basic versions of the preheater station available: 1. Electric preheating (model WEV...). Medium preheating (model MV...) MV.. medium oil preheater Medium preheaters are high capacity, forced circulation heat exchangers. High capacity is achieved with a compact, space saving construction. Hot water, steam or thermo fluid can be used as heating medium. The oil preheaters guarantee substantially stable oil temperatures and thus good combustion figures. The oil temperature achieved depends on the heating medium used. When selecting and sizing, please refer to the oil temperature diagrams in chapter. of the technical brochure Weishaupt electric and medium oil preheaters, print No. 18. Weishaupt medium oil preheaters can be used universally. It is possible to change the medium at any time. The medium preheater can be used either as stand alone unit or in conjunction with an electric oil preheater. If operating steam at more than 110 PSI (7. bar) or hot water between F (180 C) and 90F (00 C) is continuously available, then an electric preheater is not required. This is also possible if plant with the above minimum pressures or temperatures to be operated with light oil or gas. If the medium temperature is not sufficient to adequately preheat the fuel oil, then the electric oil preheater inputs the additional heat required. The electric oil preheater heats the oil for the start up of the plant. If the required medium temperature is available then the station switches over to the medium oil preheater thus saving on electricity. Suitable connection types for medium oil preheaters can be selected, depending on the medium available. If medium oil preheaters are provided without electric oil preheaters, a mechanical temperature regulator must be used with the medium connection fittings. Air / gas separators or oil circulation tanks Patented air / gas separators or circulation tanks are always required and must be quoted with the burner. By using an air / gas separator or circulation tank, it is possible for the preheated oil from the burner return to be mixed with oil from the burner supply line. This results in an energy saving, as it is only necessary to partially heat the fuel oil. Where one burner is operating on light oil, it is then possible to use a two pipe system so long as the suction vacuum does not exceed 6 PSI (0. bar). If several burners with air / gas separators or oil circulation tanks are being supplied by a ring main system, then it is a good idea to provide a manually actuated double shut off device with limit switch immediately after the air / gas separator or circulation tank. The air / gas separator or circulation tank must be selected according to the ring main pump rating and the burner size. When choosing ring main pump units, please ensure that the capacity is around 1. - times of the nozzle rating. General instructions When starting a boiler from a cold condition with residual oil, the capacity of electric oil preheater must be at least 0% of the boiler rating. On hot water boilers up to 6F (10 C) operating temperature, the electric oil preheaters must be able to produce the full boiler output without utilizing medium preheaters. Use of a medium preheater is not suitable for medium temperatures below 1F (100 C). The number of media oil preheaters to be selected depends on the oil throughput and can be taken from the capacity charts (see the technical brochure Weishaupt electric and media oil preheaters ). Planning and installation instructions Air /Gas separator, circulation tank, pump station and oil preheater station must be installed close to the burner as possible. On RGMS type burners, sizes 60 and 70, the time required for oil circulation during start sequence depends on the length of the pipework between the burner and the air gas separator or circulation tank. The shorter the pipeline, the shorter the period between call for heat and oil release / burner start after a controlled shutdown. 17
