Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Vehicle Protection. (a) Confirm you have all required parts before starting. (1) Microphone Kit (PT546-74120-MC) is required. (2) Hardware Kit (PT546-00141) is required. (3) Conversion Harness Kit (PT546-00142) is required. (b) Protect the fender before starting. (c) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable. Check kit contents. 2. Disassembly of Vehicle. NOTE: Place all removed parts on a protected surface. NOTE: When disconnecting wiring connectors do NOT pull on the wiring, pull on the connector only. NOTE: Engage the parking brake while working. (a) Remove the instrument cluster finish panel. (Fig. 2-1) (1) Disengage the six (6) clips. (2) Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument cluster finish panel. Page 4 of 18 pages

(e) Position shift lever to N position. (Fig. 2-6) Fig. 2-6 (f) Remove center console upper panel. (1) Remove panel by disengaging 8 clips. (Fig. 2-7) (2) Disconnect any connectors connected to the panel and remove panel. Fig. 2-7 10mm socket (g) Remove center console box. (1) Disengage bayonet clips by rotating 90 degrees counter clockwise. (Fig 2-8) Clips (2) (2) DO NOT USE POWER TOOL. (3) Remove trim panel by disengaging 2 clips. (h) Remove front console box cover by disengaging 4 clips and pulling toward the shifter along the 2 guides. (Fig. 2-9) Fig. 2-9 (i) Remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel. Clips (x4) Fig. 2-10 Clips (x4) (1) Disengage the 8 clips and remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel (Fig. 2-10) (2) Do not disconnect the wire harness or cable. (1) Disengage the 7 clips (x7) from the meter cluster panel and remove the combination meter panel. (1) Remove the two screws (x2), disengage the two clips (x2) and remove the combination meter from the vehicle. (Fig. 2-12) Fig. 2-12 Screw (x2) (2) Disconnect the 2 connectors. Page 7 of 18 pages

Scissors 3. Install Protective Sheet (a) Cut the protection sheet into two 100mm by 100mm pieces as shown in the illustration (Fig. 3-1). Fig. 3-1 2 Scissors (b) Measure and cut out the two dotted sections on each sheet shown in Fig. 3-2 to get the shape as shown in Fig. 3-3. Fig. 3-2 Adhesive side Overlap (c) Remove the tape liner and fold the tape over on the adhesive side as shown so that the exposed adhesive is only at the two ends. (Fig. 3-3) Fig. 3-3 Adhesive ends (d) Cut the butyl tape. (1) Cut 4 pieces of 10mm by 50mm butyl tape, as shown in the illustration. (Fig. 3-4). Fig. 3-4 Page 8 of 18 pages

Butyl tape attached to protection sheet adhesive ends. (e) Attach two pieces of the butyl tape to the adhesive ends of each protection sheet. (Fig. 3-5) (1) Remove the tape liner on one side of the butyl tape before attaching it to each of the adhesive ends. Fig. 3-5 Edges Protection sheet (100 50mm) (f) Clean the surfaces of the attachment areas on the reinforcement with a VDC approved cleaner as shown. First rib 4. Installing the BT Microphone Kit (PT546-74120-MC). Fig. 4-1 Second Rib (a) Locate the second rib from the left along the bottom of the meter opening on the back of the combination meter cluster panel. (Fig. 4-1) Round file 10mm (b) Using a small round file, create a 3mm deep notch about 10mm to the right of the second rib to provide a cutout for microphone cable. (Fig. 4-2) Fig. 4-2 Second Rib Right side opening of driver IP. (c) Route the connector end of the microphone cable through the right side opening of the driver IP. (Fig 4-3) Fig. 4-3 Microphone Cable (d) Route the connector end of the harness along the OE harness behind the vent tube toward the opening at the center of the upper IP. (Fig. 4-4) (1) Use a wire fishing tool to assist in routing the wire. (2) Make sure the wire does not touch any sharp metal edges. Fig. 4-4 Page 10 of 18 pages

Fig. 4-5 Wire tie Sheet tape (e) Continue to route the connector end of the microphone cable along the OE harness to the right side of the center IP opening. (f) Line up the connector end of the microphone to the ends of the audio connectors on the OE harness and secure the microphone cable to the OE harness with one (1) wire tie as shown. (Fig. 4-5) Sheet tape (g) Secure the microphone harness to the OE harness behind the IP support bar with one sheet tape as shown. (Fig. 4-5) (h) Secure the microphone cable to the OE harness on the left side of the center IP opening as shown. (Fig. 4-6) Fig. 4-6 Sheet Tape (x1) Fig. 4-7 (i) Pull back any slack through the right side opening of driver IP and secure the harness to the OE harness with one (1) sheet tape as shown. (Fig. 4-7) (1) There should be no slack in the cable between the center IP opening and the right side opening of drive IP. Inner top surface (2) The cable should not be touching any sharp edges between the center IP opening and the right side opening of the driver IP. Fig. 4-8 BT Microphone (j) Clean the inner top surface of the meter panel where the microphone will mount to with an approved cleaner. (Fig. 4-8) Page 11 of 18 pages

Microphone (k) Install the microphone. (1) Using the cable notch as a guide, position the microphone such that the rear of the microphone lines up to the rear edge of the panel. The cable should line up to the notch. Fig. 4-9 Fig. 4-10 Sheet Tape (x2) (2) Remove the release paper from the microphone and attach the microphone to the inner top surface of the combination meter cluster panel. (Fig. 4-9) NOTE: If the room temperature is 10 C (50 F) or below, warm up the tape and the attachment part. When the tape and the attachment part are both 20 C (68 F) or above when attaching, the initial bond strength will be enhanced. (l) Secure the microphone cable to the back of the meter cluster panel with two (2) pieces of sheet tape as shown. (Fig. 4-10) Fig. 4-11 (m) Route the remaining length of the cable along the OE harness down to the center lower IP opening. (Fig. 4-11) Combination meter Harness (n) Reinstall the combination meter assembly. (1) Make sure wire harness is not pinched and fits in the opening between the bottom right portion of the combination meter and IP as shown. (o) Reinstall the combination meter panel. (1) Pull excess cable slack toward the center lower IP opening when reinstalling the combination meter panel. Bundle the cable together and secure the bundle to the vehicle wire harness using one lock tie (x1). (Fig. 4-14) (q) Secure the top and bottom of the bundle to the vehicle harness with two pieces of electrical tape. (Fig. 4-14) (r) Trim wire tie. 5. Installing the Radio. (a) Attach the two radio brackets (L) and (R) to the receiver using the eight bolts from the hardware bag. (Fig. 5-2) Connect this end to the radio (1) Note: The vehicle harnesses connect to the connectors on the conversion harness side with the foam around them. USB (2) Connect the four conversion harness connectors and the vehicle 6 Pin audio harness connector to the back of the radio. (Fig. 5-5) (1) Make sure seat belt reminder harness is not trapped behind the radio. (2) Fasten the receiver assembly, radio unit with four bolts. Page 14 of 18 pages

6. USB function check. (a) Temporarily reconnect negative battery cable. If required, install the 30A DCC fuse. (Fig. 6-1) (b) Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. Fig. 6-1 (c) Connect the USB flash drive media to the vehicle s USB/AUX connector. (Fig. 6-2) Fig. 6-2 USB/AUX Connector (d) Select USB mode by pressing the source button on the touch display screen, then selecting USB mode. (Fig. 6-3) (e) Confirm song plays. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. (2) Verify the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (b) Clean up and remove any trash. (c) Reconnect the vehicle s negative battery cable to original factory position. (Fig. 8-1) (1) Tighten the nut to 5.4 N m (48 lbf in) Torque: 5.4 N m (48 lbf in) (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when replacing the cable. (d) Perform functional checks. Checklist these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Accessory Function Checks Insert CD audio disc and confirm operation Turn radio on and confirm operation Antenna is functional Fade Balance Illumination AUX port Look For: Functioning CD player Radio functions properly. Reception of AM/FM stations. Functioning fade, front to rear speakers. (Note: Some iq models may not have rear speakers. Sound may not come out when faded to the rear. Set fade back to center after check.) Functioning balance, left to right speakers. Illumination should function properly. AUX port should function properly. Vehicle Function Checks Steering Wheel audio controls Seat belt reminder light Hazard switch HVAC (heating ventilation and air conditioning system) Rear window defogger Rheostat/Dimmer Electroluminescent panel (if equipped) Functioning audio controls. Checklist these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Look For: Vehicle Appearance Checks Visual Inspection (After accessory installation and removal of protective covers(s), perform visual inspection.)
