Please indicate type of roller required and profile of RSJ ET Buffer extension is bolted to the first roller carrier and is aligned with the buffer on the leading carrier which is fixed to outrigger arm. The buffer slopes down to give a 50 mm clearance between the under side of the track and the top of the leading carrier. 900 Series End carriers for KT 975 KT 989 Each flexible cable arrangement requires an end clamp for the first and last cable loop. The end clamp type ET is fixed to RSJ and the type ET (leading) is bolted to outrigger arm. The crane trolley must be provided with two holes 30 mm diameter at 140 mm centres for bolting the end clamp on to the bracket. The correct end clamp can be obtained from the foregoing table. The clamp pieces are manufactured from neoprene and are strengthened with aluminium backing. Care should be exercised to ensure that the cable claps are arranged so as not to interfere with adjacent loops. Tension wires for relieving stress on cables. For use with cable carriers KT 975 KT 989. Manufactured from galvanised steel wire ropes, fitted with Talurit rope clamps. We recommend that in conditions where, either the crane trolley velocity exceeds 80 m/min or the travel distance exceeds 30 m, tension wires are employed. KT 975 989 Tension wires The tension wires are available in the following diameters, 8, 10 and 12 mm and are delivered complete with rope clamps, thimbles and shackles. The required length and diameter of rope should be stated at the time of ordering. The cable carriers would be delivered ready for fitting of the tension wires, the wire length being such that the inner edge of the rope thimble aligns with the end of the carrier. Calculation of tension wire length. A = tension wire length between cable carriers B = Mobile trolley travel length C = Mobile trolley length D = Closed up length (ambush) on carrier (see chart on page 94/95) n = Number on roller carriers A = B + C - D n + 1 The requisite tension wire can be selected from the following table. However, this is only an arbitrary value, as the behaviour of the tension wire subject to influences such as the hang of cables as well as velocity, the carrier load and distance to be travelled. Tension wire diameter in mm determined by crane trolley, velocity and travel Velocity in m/min Travel in metres 0-30 30 70 70-100 over 100 0 80-8 8 10 80 150 8 8 10 10 over 150-12 12 12 Example when ordering: for a tension wire of 8 mm diameter and 3550 mm length: Tension wire 8/3550 89
