The F-Series + Integrated Valve Assemblies
De-pressurised Pneumatics The single piston has only one dynamic sealing ring under pressure. This single seal has a short stroke thus minimising frictional wear. The F-series drive shaft is made from stainless steel eliminating the common corrosion problems of mild steel pinions. The combination of BS EN 9001 accreditation and a specialised MRP computerised stock control program with CNC machinery ensures the production of high grade and reliable products. The offset position of the drive shaft allows for versatile mounting positions in tight corners or cramped locations. Coupled with its small size the units will fit into tight spaces. The F-series is the result of Forac s 25 years of experience. Designed and made in the UK, customers talk directly to the manufacturer for both information and customisation. Forac F-series actuators confirm to British and European standards both for mounting to valves and interfacing with solenoids. Pressurised Up to 6 springs are located within the actuator without increasing the overall size.
Limit switches 24VDC 3Amp PCB mounted gold contact switches offer connection via a terminal block and PG9 cable gland. The 230VAC 4Amp switch version and the Intrinsically Safe proximity sensors are both connected via a M12 socket. Central to the switches is a shaft equipped with two adjustable screws set in helicoil screw-lock inserts to BS7751 providing fine tuning to actuator stroke position. The stainless steel plate compresses an O-ring, sealing the switches from the surrounding environment to IP67. Embodied within the overall envelope of the pneumatic actuator are three versions that incorporate position indication. position indication is given on the valve coupling. Optional visual indication is available mounted on the outside of the unit. The extended switch shaft, which passes through the stainless steel cover, is sealed with an O-ring energising a PTFE face seal. An arrow indicates the position of the valve. Customers wiring is through a PG9 conduit entry on one side whilst solenoids may be pre-wired through the opposite side.
AS-i Network Actuator Sensor Interface (AS-i) is an industrial network for connecting simple field devices onto a single 2-core cable. Networking saves wire, time and space. The network is controlled by a master such as a PLC or it can complement existing higher level systems such as a fieldbus. Up to 62 valves, or other devices, can be connected to one 100m segment with a 10ms access time. Maximum current consumption is approximately 80mA per valve. Maximum pressure is 7 Bar of clean dry air. The motherboard, which incorporates the switches, has the AS-i card mounted piggy-back under the polycarbone lid. The 24 Volt gold contact microswitch PCB provides for direct mounting of the AS-i card within the actuator. The extra height required is provided by a transparent polycarbonate lid giving clear positional indication. Solenoids are mounted on the front face of the actuator and pre-wired to a terminal block located on the lower board. Connection is via an M12 connector or vampire clamp as required. Actual Size One or two solenoids can be fitted for fail-safe or fail-stationary modes.
Positioning A proven 4-20mA positioner with years of faultless operation in arduous industrial environments is now re-housed into the main body of the F+ series. Miniature solenoid valves position the process valve without fluctuation. The raised clear polycarbonate lid enables visual monitoring of position. Programmable by a button under the clear raised lid, the algorithm ensures smooth operation with high resistance to electrical interference. Self tuning, direction of operation, fail condition and stroke are all programmable. Apart from being the smallest positioning industrial valve assembly in the world, this unit is also low cost by comparison. The postioner circuit board is illustrated with the potentiometer and the position indicator removed for clarity. The positioner assembly is available with either 24 or 12V DC solenoids for operation with up to 7 Bar of clean dry air. Maximum power consumption 2.7 watts. The ease of programming makes this the best choice when multiple valve positioning is required. Connection is to a terminal block via a PG9 conduit. Actual Size
