Oklahoma District Membership Enhancement Coordinator Carol Murphy HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! 2019 is here and it s time for us to put together our individual and Chapter annual goals/plans for the new year. Some questions to ask yourself include, but are not limited to. 1) Is the chapter planning on holding an anniversary party in 2019? If so, what will be the date? Theme? 2) What kind of activities does the chapter want to plan for the year? 3) Does the chapter have a 2019 Couple of the Year? 4) Is the chapter planning on holding any training sessions? 5) Will the chapter be traveling to other chapter gatherings to show support? Or meet new friends? Or just to travel throughout the state? Of course, these are just a few of the questions we need to be asking ourselves to make chapters fun, active and include everybody. There are a couple of other items I wish to remind you about. Is your chapter planning to participate in the 2018 Chapter of the Year program? If so, your paperwork needs to be turned in to me by Friday, January 11, 2019. The winning chapter will be announced at the Financial Meeting on February 2, 2019 in Shawnee. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend time with your families and loved ones. Now it s time for us to kick start our engines and make our GWRRA chapters more fun and exciting. I know chapters work very hard on trying to plan and make their chapters fun. However let s make it a challenge to make our chapters even more fun so folks say I want to do that! and are excited to participate. Until next time, Carol 4 of 14

Welcome to Music City! Your host of Wing Ding 41 August 27, 2019 - August 31, 2019 Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center Nashville, TN USA 6 of 14

Oklahoma District Educator Max Rowlett Greetings Goldwingers! I hope Santa was good to you on Christmas, and you had a chance to spend some quality time with your family. Now on to the New Year 2019! Some of us will now consider creating personal resolutions for the New Year 2019 and seek to improve the way we conduct our lives. While you re considering the resolutions to be made, why not consider the GWRRA Levels Program and Rider Education Courses? To get started in the Levels Program just let your Chapter Director or the District Educator know you re interested in the program. You begin in Level I at no cost and you make a sincere commitment to making riding safer for you and those that ride with you. The District Educator provides the Safe Rider Patch with Rocker free of charge. Level II requires that you must have already signed-up for Level 1, achieved 5000 safe miles since becoming a GWRRA member, and completed a riding training course for the rider, and a co-rider must complete a co-rider seminar or two up riding training class. Many of our Chapters pay for the initial patches, or they are available for purchase if you would like to buy them. You are not required to purchase the patches or a vest, although many members like to show their achievements. It gives your fellow riders more confidence in your ability to ride safe! Level III must be current in Level II, have completed CPR or First Aid training, and carry a First Aid kit on their bike or trike. Level IV Master Tour Riders and Co-Rider must be current and complete a full year at Level III, have ridden no less than 25,000 miles since joining GWRRA, and must be certified in both CPR and First Aid. Master Tour Riders and Co-Riders sign a commitment to wear all the gear all the time (ATGATT). I ve heard a few riders say they wouldn t participate in a riding course and take a chance of dropping their bike. This is the rider we really encourage to take the riding courses because you will learn a lot and leave with more confidence in your Goldwing and yourself as a rider. Completing the course will be challenging but fun. If you have been riding for a number of years you can always learn something new, and hopefully correct any bad riding habits you may have acquired over the years. You can always improve your riding skills and knowledge! Please! Write this down as your number 1 resolution for the Year 2019! You won t be sorry! Ride Safe & Ride Often!
