The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the Accessory Installation Practices document. Socket (10 mm), Ratchet 1. Vehicle Preparation (Fig. 1-1) a. Apply parking brake. b. Protect fender before starting. c. Remove the negative ( ) battery cable. Fig. 1-1 CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal. d. Using the protective blanket, cover front seat, side of the shift lever and center console. e. Place removed vehicle components on a protective blanket. 2. Vehicle Disassembly AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODELS a. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the shift lock cap (Fig. 1-2). NOTE: Apply protective tape to the screwdriver to prevent any scratches that may occur. 1. Disengage the shift lock and shift vehicle out of park. Make sure parking brake or wheel block is used. (Rollover Image). 2. Remove cluster panel. MANUAL TRANSMISSION MODELS 3. Unscrew shift knob and remove cluster panel. b. Remove the center cluster under panel. 1. Use your hands, disengage the clips and remove (Fig. 1-3). Fig. 1-3 Page 4 of 12

Socket (10 mm), Ratchet c. Remove the center cluster side panels. 1. Using a 10mm socket, remove the two (2) screws pictured (Fig. 1-4). Fig. 1-4 Panel Removal Tool 2. Use hands or a plastic panel removal tool to disengage the left and right center cluster side panels (Fig. 1-5). 3. Apply protective tape to the HVAC assembly as shown. NOTE: Tape not required if using hands to remove panels. Start from the bottom. Fig. 1-5 d. Remove the cluster bezel. 1. Using your hands, gently pull on the left and right corner of the bezel to disengage and remove (Fig. 1-6). Fig. 1-6 Page 5 of 12

Socket (8 mm), Ratchet e. Remove the radio assembly. 1. Using a 8mm socket/ratchet remove four (4) screws from the right and left radio brackets (Fig 1-7). Fig. 1-7 2. Using your hands, gently pull out the radio to disengage the four (4) clips (Fig. 1-8). 3. Disengage the climate control assembly and move out of the way. NOTE: DO NOT remove any connectors. 4. Carefully support/hold radio while disconnecting connectors. Be sure not to place excess stress on connectors. Fig. 1-8 3. Interface Module Installation a. Mount the module. 1. Interlock two (2) wire ties and mount the module to the metal bracket left of the radio cavity (Fig. 1-9). NOTE: Module will be wrapped in foam tape. BLU Logic wire ties in Figure 1-5 and the remainder of these instructions will be shown in yellow. Fig. 1-9 Page 6 of 12

b. Connect the main power harness (highlighted in blue) to the interface module (Fig. 1-10). NOTE: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module. 1. Secure main power harness to vehicle s radio harness with wire tie(s). Fig. 1-10 Panel Removal Tool 4. BLU Logic Switch Installation a. Remove the front console panel. 1. Using hands or panel removal tool, disengage the front clips and remove (Fig. 1-11). 2. Remove any connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-11 Socket (10 mm), Ratchet b. Remove the rear console panel. 1. Remove the two (2) screws securing the instrument panel pockets using a 10mm socket/ratchet (Fig. 1-12). Fig. 1-12 Page 7 of 12

Panel Removal Tool 2. Disengage the rear of the rear console panel with hands or a panel removal tool (Fig. 1-13). 3. Apply protective tape to the top of the rear center console. NOTE: Protective tape not required if using hands. 4. Disconnect any connectors and set aside. Fig. 1-13 10 mm socket/ratchet c. Remove the floor console. 1. Remove two (2) screws using a 10mm ratchet/socket (Fig. 1-14). Fig. 1-14 2. Pull up the back of the floor cluster and set aside (Fig. 1-15). Fig. 1-15 Page 8 of 12

d. Remove the right instrument panel pocket by gently pulling on the top (Fig. 1-16). Fig. 1-16 Side Cutters e. Route BLU Logic switch cable (highlighted in blue). 1. Route towards opening of radio. 2. Secure switch wire to existing wire loom (Fig 1-17). 3. Wire tie about every 5-6 inches. 4. Cut off excess wire ties. Fig. 1-17 NOTE: Leave a 3-4 inch pig tail that will connect to the switch. Side Cutters 5. Continue routing under the carpet and behind the panel (Fig. 1-18). 6. Apply 33cm of the 1/4 split wire loom to the microphone end of the cable leaving minimum of 8mm of wire exposed. 7. Loosely route the microphone wire towards the interface module at this time. Fig. 1-18 NOTE: Microphone will be mounted and wire will be secured later. Page 9 of 12

f. Mount the BLU Logic switch. 1. Remove the knock-out from the front console panel. 2. Mount the switch with the solid arrow pointing towards the front of the car (Fig. 1-19). 3. Reinstall the floor console. 4. Reinstall rear and front console panel. Fig. 1-19 5. Connect microphone and switch cables to the interface module. Side Cutters 6. Bundle up any excess microphone and switch wire (highlighted in orange) and secure to existing wire loom with wire tie(s) (Fig. 1-20). NOTE: Main harness not connected for instructional purposes. 7. Cut off excess wire ties. Fig. 1-20 Fig. 1-21 g. Connect main power harness connectors to the radio s matching connectors as needed (Fig. 1-21). NOTE: AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector may not be present on the vehicle s harness. Wire tie this connector to the harness unconnected, but ALWAYS connect the AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector into the radio. If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle harness, connect to jumper provided with BLU Logic unit. If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first. Page 10 of 12

1. Reinstall the radio assembly. 2. Reinstall the HVAC assembly. 3. Reinstall the right and left center cluster side panel. 5. Microphone Installation a. Mount the microphone. 1. Clean the center cluster under panel with an approved VDC cleaner. Fig. 1-22 2. Mount the microphone to the bottom of the panel and directly in the center to minimize the amount of exposed wire visible to the customer. 0-8mm is acceptable (Fig1-22). NOTE: The back of the panel has a tooling mark at dead center for reference. 3. Screw on the shift knob. b. Position negative battery table at the original factory position (tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs (4.07 N.m). CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during installation. c. Put the owner s manual in the glove box. Fig. 1-23 6. Apply BLU Logic decal to BLU Logic switch. (Only kits manufactured on or after the date code on the front page will include the BLU Logic decal). a. Remove the protective backing on the round portion of the BLU Logic sticker (Fig. 1-23). b. Apply it to the center of the switch so that the sticker hangs towards the right as shown in Fig. 1-24. NOTE: Photo shown may not match the switch installation location for this vehicle and is for illustrative purposes. Fig. 1-24 Page 11 of 12

CHECKLIST these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Make sure radio and interior lights (if applicable) are turned off. Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Accessory Function Checks Check: Factory Radio Interface Kit Audio Output Look For: Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the radio on, press the middle button on the BLU Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted. Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beep. NOTE: Pairing the module to a phone is not required. This is the customers (or dealers) responsibility. Turn the radio to an AM or FM station and then turn the balance to the L and confirm the audio is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the right front speaker. Vehicle Function Check Vehicle Function Vehicle Function Detail Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM. Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch. HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system. NAV System (if equipped) Confirm navigation operation by AVN diagnostics. SRS Warning Light Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out. Prior to TPMS activation and Pre- delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on. After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on. Turn off all components including radio and interior lights. Remove fuse (short pin) after function checks are complete. Check with your dealer/port to find out if this step is required. Kit Service Information Item: Location: 1 3-Amp in-line Fuse The fuse is located behind the radio assembly. To replace, follow Step 1 through 8 to access the fuse location. NOTE: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free BLU Logic will not turn on. Page 12 of 12
