Guide to SRT Responses for MABAS Box Cards Division 5 Updated: 12/19/2018 The following procedure will provide guidance as to how SRT Box Cards are designed to maintain consistency in responses of the SRT. SRT Box Cards will be reviewed and updated on at least an annual basis. It is important to note that there must be a separate card for each discipline. This will eliminate any confusion by the MABAS Division Dispatch in the event of an incident. The box card templates are considered minimums for the equipment and technicians required for teams to operate safely and efficiently. Using the attached SRT box card templates, each Fire Department that is requested to respond with technicians on each box level will be inserted. DO NOT list All Division 4 and 5 Technicians on any alarm level. Refer to the SRT Members by Department and Team, which is included in this guide (check the SRT website for the most up to date list). MABAS Division 5 Dispatch will ensure the minimum numbers of technicians are responding. Each local fire department / district shall determine an adequate still alarm response for initial operations, including applicable ARAs. Provide additional engines, ambulances, trucks, squads, chiefs and special equipment to support the incident operation at each alarm level. Each SRT discipline will provide a Safety Officer who will focus on the Team operations. The IC should designate a Safety Officer for the overall incident. The SRT Administrative Coordinator, Team Leaders/Coordinators and SRT Operations Chiefs will be notified by MABAS Division 5 Dispatch (via text page) and report to an incident scene as a resource for the Incident Commander. For extended operations, teams may request the deployment containers. 1
Interdivisional assignments are noted on each card. Generally, the closest divisions (see map) with the appropriate resources will be chosen. DO NOT put resources from other divisions in the Box through 5 th alarm area. The following Divisions in the region also have recognized teams: Tech Rescue Haz-Mat 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 20 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 20 Dive 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 12 *4, 15, 16, 24, 36, 41, 56 # 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 15, 19, 36 Wildland (Brush Trucks) Swift / Flood Water Rescue 5, 101, 102, 103 1, 3, 24 Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Underwater Robot 3 & 24 Sonar (*=side scan; # = sector scan) Midwest Regional MABAS Divisions 2

RDC's are not motorized. Inflatable boats are great option for flooded areas for patrolling and evacuation. Connecter boats and jon boats are best used for evacuation in flooded areas with very little current. Note jon boats can tip easy - safety issue. Air Boats maybe of use in flooded areas but has limitations. Jim Bouy can be used for victim rescue in hydraulics and foot entrapment. Great in swift and flood water. Updated OCT-2018 9
