ROTARY ACTUATOR CORROSION PROTECTION OPTIONS Body : Hard Anodized Aluminum: (Standard) Special Aluminum alloy is used as a base metal Hard Anodizing of Aluminum results in better corrosion protection, surface hardness and superior wear resistance Electroless Nickel Treatment: EN Nickel is deposited on the aluminum surface by its chemical reaction on the body, which is hard Anodized. This treatment covers the crevices including the threads and the passage hole making the surface absolutely nonporous and corrosion free. Superior corrosion resistance as compared to Hard Epoxy Coated Actuator: CL The two pack epoxy coating is done on a Hard Anodized surface of the Aluminum body by the spray technique. It produces a µ 0µ thick layer (only external surfaces). This epoxy coating helps in protecting the actuator from extremely corrosive environments. Choose this option specially for 0 µm thickness of the controlled oxidized surface of the alloy comprises primarily of Aluminum trioxide (AlO ) crystals along with Magnesium, Tungsten Oxides which make the surface chemically inert and extremely hard (in excess of º Rc) The surface can withstand all environmental oxidations including, those of saline, except strong alkaline by the surface (Refer the technical document for more information) The oxidized Aluminum base metal cannot be peeled, making it an extremely stable surface treatment Anodizing, makes this treatment a suitable choice for corrosive environments.
