Solis US 4G PV String Inverter Innovations! The 6-10 kw product line is Ginlong s Fourth Generation (4G) of PV String inverters Arc Fault Circuit Interrupt has been fully integrated into the entire product line. The integrated AFCI board looks for arc faults in the DC circuits to help prevent fires (can be enabled / disabled via menu). The temperature inside the inverter has been reduced. Ginlong optimized the structural design of the internal components and the heat sink, and moved inductors (line smoothing) outside the enclosure All key components are being standardized across the Ginlong Solis inverter platform GLOBALLY. Ginlong has unified both domestic and foreign inverter configurations to simplify production and promote reliability. 6

Solis US 4G PV String Inverter Innovations! The 6-10 kw product line is Ginlong s Fourth Generation (4G) of PV String inverters The 4G inverters use the latest Texas Instruments (TI) 2806 DSP chip, increasing CPU processing speed and PWM resolution by 1.5 times, The 4G inverters use the 5 th generation Infineon IGBTs, improving efficiency by 0.5-0.8%, Increasing the switching frequency (from ~16 khz to ~32kHz) has further improved the efficiency of the 4G Solis US PV string inverters (97.8% peak efficiency, 97.5% CEC). Increasing the switching frequency can reduce loss in magnetic components, reducing the heating of these components Switching losses are further minimized by properly configuring the drive parameters 7

Solis 6-10 kw Enclosure Dimensions and Weights and Features The 6-10 kw enclosures look a lot like the 2.5-5 kw enclosures and Solis has made every effort to keep the weight down The powder-coated aluminum enclosure is rated NEMA 4X. The inverter is passively cooled by natural convection. There are no fans to break down. Depth of the inverters has increased a little but six (6) inverters can still fit on a single pallet The 6-10kW inverters weigh a little more than the 2.5-5 kw inverters. However, they can still be handled by one man Solis 2.5-3.6 kw inverters weigh 33 lbs. Solis 4-5 kw inverters weigh 39 lbs. Solis 6-7.6 kw inverters weigh 43 lbs. Solis 8-10 kw inverters weigh 44 lbs. The 6-10 kw inverters are approximately the same width and height as the 2.5-5 kw inverters, but they are 3 inches deeper. The LCD is the same. The menu is the same. Just like the 2.5-5kW inverters, there are 4 buttons to push to get into the menu The mounting bracket is easier to use. The installer will hang the inverter on the mounting plate. The inverter is safe in this position until it is finally secured to the bracket with two Torx screws (near the bottom of the heat sink) 8

Designing with the Solis 6-10 kw Inverters Larger single phase inverters match growing system sizes in the US (>6kW) Fully compatible with the 2G Ginlong Solis inverters String lengths may differ on independent MPPT s The Solis US PV String Inverters are default set for operation on 240V Single Phase (split phase) circuits. However, these 6-10 kw inverters can also operate on a 208 three phase grid. The 6-10 kw inverters monitor the grid between L1 and L2. The neutral can be connected, or not. PE (protective Earth), i.e. Ground MUST be connected when operating the 6-10 kw inverters on a 240V or 208V grid 6-10 kw inverters can be loaded to 120% (dc/ac ratio), where AC kilowatt hour production is highly valued. The Solis Design string sizing tool (www.ginlong.com) will show this design to be in the green. Users can input their own modules into the tool. Although the online tool will show a design to be in the yellow when the dc/ac ratio is +121% to 140%, this kind of operational flexibility can be exploited by PV system designers Breaker sizes 40A for 6-7.6 kw inverters 50A for 8 and 9 kw inverters 60A for 10 kw inverter 9

Solis Monitoring Accessories Solis offers a complete hardware and software monitoring solution that provides real time data on inverter performance and current grid conditions. Two different types of Wi-Fi accessories are available Go to the Ginlong website to get connected to Ginlong Monitoring, a cloud-based remote monitoring solution. Phone apps are available to monitor your site from any location. The Solis Wi-Fi Stick Provides monitoring for a single inverter. Connects to the inverter s RS485 port NEMA 4X with a 100 meter communication range The Solis Wi-Fi Box Provides monitoring for up to 10 inverters. Connects to the inverter s RS485 port NEMA 1, requires 120Vac power source, 300 meter communication range 10

Physically Installing the Solis 6-10 kw Inverters The installation procedures for the 6-10kW enclosures are almost identical to the 2.5-5 kw inverter installation procedures All Ginlong Solis US PV String inverters are rated NEMA 4X and passively cooled. They can tolerate blowing rain and icing conditions. Weathertight conduit fittings are required to maintain the NEMA 4X rating on the US wire box The installer will find four electrical knockouts in the wire box Two on the side and two on the bottom (1 to 1¼ ID) New Wire Box design may have two knockouts at the back The bottom of the inverter is a little different. In addition to a small weep hole and the integrated DC switch, there are two Gore vents (black). There is also a knockout for RS-485 communication wires Same Wi-Fi Port on the outside of the enclosure but enhanced compatibility for RS-485 (Modbus) communication platforms like Locus Energy, Also Energy, ProLogis, Draker, etc. 11

Wiring the Solis 6-10 kw Inverters The wiring procedures for the 6-10kW inverters is similar to the wiring procedures for the 2.5-5 kw inverters The DC switch is in the same place and it operates the same way as the DC switch on the 2.5-5 kw inverters The Wire Box is similar. There is more pronounced separation of the DC and AC connection blocks. All 6-10kW inverters use the Rapid Termination type terminals (cage terminals) There are no rapid termination terminals for grounding. The installer will find a new ground bar at the bottom center of the wire box for all ground wire connections. On the DC side, the installer will find more terminals for DC connections. There are 3 or 4 MPPTs on the 6-10 kw Ginlong Solis US PV string inverters (compared to 2 MPPTs on the 2.5-5kW). On the AC side, the installer will find the familiar L1, L2, Neutral and Protective Earth (PE, i.e. ground ) terminals that can accept up to AWG #4 conductors (strip back ¾ inch) Installers will also see new L1/L2 terminals for the Solis RSD 12
