REAR CARRIER/SADDLEBAG MOUNT BRACKETS (Sold separately) TORQUE CHART Tighten all screws, bolts, and nuts to their specified torque values. Refer to the Service Manual for the torque values of the removed parts. INSTALLATION INFORMATION CAUTION: To prevent burns, allow the engine, exhaust system, radiator, etc. to cool before installing accessory. NOTE: The rear carrier/saddlebag brackets which are sold separately are required to install this accessory. Take care not to damage the painted surfaces of the motorcycle. When the motorcycle is already equipped with the Rear Carrier, remove the Rear carrier and Rear Carrier/Saddlebag Brackets before installing this accessory. INSTALLATION 1. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, remove the motorcycle parts as shown. 2. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, remove the drive chain case. SPRING PASSENGER SEAT HINGE SINGLE SEAT BOLT PASSENGER SEAT BOLT DRIVE CHAIN CASE NUT FLANGE COLLAR 3. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, remove the right and left grab rails. MOTORCYCLE S BOLT CAP (save) MOTORCYCLE S BOLT RIGHT GRAB RAIL FLANGE COLLAR LEFT GRAB RAIL (Save) 87940-MGS-A300 3 of 9

4. Remove the passenger seat hinge as shown. PASSENGER SEAT HINGE 6. Cut and attach the template to the seat cowl and mark it using a marker as shown. MARKER TAPE TEMPLATE (Reverse side) LEFT SIDE: RIGHT SIDE: TAPE TEMPLATE RIGHT GRAB RAIL (Save) 5. Refer to the Service Manual for the motorcycle, remove the seat cowl. MARKER BOLT TAPE TEMPLATE MARKER Repeat on the left side. 4 of 9 87940-MGS-A300

7. Remove the template. Cut out the shaded areas on the seat cowl as shown. <If rear fender B has factory marked points> 9. Drill 20 mm holes at the factory marked points on the rear fender B using an electric drill and hole saw. Be careful not to damage harnesses. Remove any burrs from the edge of the hole. Wrap the tape around the hole saw leaving 2 mm of the tip exposed, as shown, to serve as a hole saw stop. 2 mm ELECTRICAL TAPE HOLE SAW WOOD BLOCK 10 mm thick Position between the rear fender B and frame. FRET SAW Remove. Remove any burrs. FILE File off the cut surfaces after removing the area. REAR FENDER B ELECTRIC DRILL (20 mm HOLE SAW) Remove. 8. Install the seat cowl in the reverse order of removal. 87940-MGS-A300 5 of 9

<If rear fender B has slits> 9. Work upon the rear fender B as shown. Be careful not to damage harnesses. Remove any burrs from the edge of the hole. 11. Install the right saddlebag hook cover and hook as shown. 6 mm FLANGE NUT Remove. SLIT FILE File off the cutout surface. (small) RIGHT SADDLEBAG BRACKET 6 mm COLLAR (thick) 6 mm COLLAR (thin/large) HOOK COVER HOOK REAR FENDER B 12. Install the passenger seat hinge as shown. PASSENGER SEAT HINGE (Reuse) S (Reuse) (Reuse) 10. Remove the bolts and nuts as shown. NUT (Save) BRACKET BRACKET BOLT (Save) 6 of 9 87940-MGS-A300

13. Loosely install the saddlebag stays as shown. Do not install the plugs yet. MOTORCYCLE S BOLT (Reuse) MOTORCYCLE S BOLT (Reuse) (Reuse) PLUG Install after tightening the bolt securely. 14. Loosely install the right saddlebag support stay as shown. SUPPORT STAY 8 mm COLLAR (short) S (large) 8 mm COLLAR (long) SUPPORT STAY BRACKET FLANGE COLLAR (Reuse) LEFT SADDLEBAG BRACKET BOLT (long) BOLT (short) BOLT (medium) S (large) 8 mm COLLAR (short) 87940-MGS-A300 7 of 9

15. Install the rubber stop as shown. Make up both brackets. 48 mm RUBBER STOP 17. Install the right saddlebag and tighten all loosely installed hardware to the specifications in the torque chart. When securing the saddlebag support stay, first tighten the upper bolts. SADDLEBAG BRACKET UPPER BOLTS SADDLEBAG BRACKET RUBBER STOP 16. Install the saddlebag bracket as shown. 6 mm COLLAR (middle) (small) 6 mm SOCKET BOLT 6 mm COLLAR (thin/small) 18. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. <TEMPLATE> Cut off along the dotted line. Align with the contour of the seat cowl. First, mark the right side seat cowl. Turn the template over to mark the left side seat cowl. Mark along the template. Cut this area when used on the left side. Mark along the template. Align with the contour of the seat cowl. SCALE Mark along the template. SCALE NOTICE If you print this template from your local computer, make sure the printer settings do not scale or shrink the page.
