LEGALITY NOTES These exhaust headers DO NOT comply with California Air Resource Board regulations and are NOT LEGAL for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles in the state of California. These headers are intended for use on vehicles that are involved in closed course racing applications only. They will be referred to as RACE USE ONLY in any other location in this instruction sheet, or any marketing information. The installation of exhaust headers onto any vehicle must be performed in accordance with all governmental regulations that pertain to the particular vehicle receiving the headers. However, DTH cannot control the installation of the product. For this reason the warranty covers only the replacement of the components, it does not cover labor for the installation. 2) The use of any type of header wrapping immediately voids the warranty. Using any sort of wrapping material on the headers destroys the tubing s ability to dissipate heat, causing very rapid deterioration of the composition of the metal and the subsequent failure of the headers. 3) Any chrome plating applied to DTH header components is a high-nickel chrome finish applied to retard corrosion. This is a commercial quality heat chrome designed to protect the metal from the environment only. This finish is not show chrome and is not intended for the sake of appearance. This high-nickel chrome will turn colors and approach black as it cooks into the metal. The initial brilliance of the chrome finish is not covered under the warranty. Contamination of the surface by foreign substances may produce other color patterns. This can be prevented by routine cleaning. 4) Retain all paperwork pertaining to the purchase of your DTH product. Save your receipt! Your limited warranty is not valid without a receipt of purchase.

INSTALLATION NOTES Installation of these headers WILL trigger a check engine light. This can be corrected with either a custom performance tune or aftermarket tuner, and/or an O2 sensor simulator. 1) It is important that you read the entire instruction sheet before beginning any installation. 2) Due to restricted room in the engine compartment your headers may come close to certain body and chassis components, this is normal for an installation of this type. However, a careful inspection must be completed to ensure that the distances and placement are reasonable and logical, especially with regard to electrical, fuel, and brake components. 3) Because of car-to-car variations, DTH strongly recommends that these headers be installed by an experienced installation shop that has welding and fabrication capabilities. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE OE MANIFOLD REMOVAL 1) Disconnect the battery which is located in the truck area. NOTE: You may need to leave the trunk open for the duration of the installation if your vehicle is not equipped with a traditional key operated trunk lock. 2) Unplug all O2 sensor harnesses from the original exhaust components. Make note of the O2 sensor locations and remove them from the exhaust system. NOTE: Do not attempt to remove O2 sensors or hardware while the engine is hot. Doing this may result in damage to the sensors. 3) Loosen and remove both original connector pipes located between the factory exhaust manifolds and the beginning of the exhaust system. 4) Remove both exhaust manifold heat shields. 5) Remove the oil dipstick. Remove the bolt securing the dipstick tube to the motor and remove the dipstick tube. 6) Remove all bolts/nuts securing the factory exhaust manifolds to the motor and remove the manifolds. 7) Inspect the cylinder heads for any excessive carbon buildup and clean as necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE HEADER INSTALLATION 1) Carefully work the driver side header into place. Using supplied M8-1.25x25mm Hex Flange Head Bolts and supplied Driver Side Header Gasket, loosely secure the header to the motor. Do not fully tighten bolts at this time. NOTE: The driver and passenger side header gaskets are different, be sure to match the proper gasket up with the header flange. 2) Carefully work the passenger side header into place. Using the remaining M8-1.25x25mm Hex Flange Head Bolts and the Passenger Side Header Gasket, loosely secure the header to the motor. Do not install the bolt that will also be used to secure the dipstick tube to the header flange. Also, do not fully tighten bolts at this time. 3) Work the dip stick tube into place in the motor. Using the provided Dipstick Tube Spacer, secure the dipstick tube to the header flange. Do not fully tighten at this time. 4) Place the supplied Swivel Exhaust Clamps over the ball portion of the collector outlets on the headers. 5) Work the driver and passenger Connector Pipes into place between the headers and exhaust system. Loosely secure to the headers using the Swivel Exhaust Clamps, and secure to the exhaust system using the original clamps. 6) When you are satisfied with the positioning of your headers and connector pipes, you may fully tighten the header flange bolts, starting with the center and working your way out. Torque all bolts to factory specification. 7) Fully tighten the swivel exhaust clamps and the clamps at the rear of the connector pipes. 8) Install the driver side O2 sensor to the header and connect the harness. 9) Install the 12 O2 Sensor Extension to the passenger side O2 sensor header wiring harness. Install the O2 sensor to the header and connect the harness. 10)Install one 24 O2 Sensor Extension to each rear O2 sensor wiring harness. Install the rear O2 sensors to the connector pipes and connect to the harnesses. 11) Reconnect battery terminals.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 12)Inspect engine compartment and components around the headers for clearance issues. Wipe excess oil, grease and finger prints off of the headers with acetone or equivalent 13)Start engine and check for any leaks. 14)It will be necessary to re-torque nuts and bolts once the engine has reached operating temperature, and has cooled back down. Should you want to install catalytic convertors into your exhaust system, room has been designed into the connector pipes for you to do so. We recommend that the catalytic convertors you choose are no larger than 4 in diameter and 7 long.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY Unless otherwise specified, Doug Thorley Headers (hereinafter DTH) header products are warranted against defective materials and workmanship for as long as you, the original consumer purchaser, owns said header product. DTH exhaust products, defined as any component "downstream" of a DTH header product or OE factory exhaust manifolds, are warranted against defective materials and workmanship for a period of 5 years from the original consumer purchase date. These limited warranties are non-transferrable and proof of purchase is required for any warranty claims. These warranties shall be limited to the repair, adjustment, and/or replacement of defective parts at the discretion of DTH. Authorized product(s) returned will be repaired or replaced also at the discretion of DTH. All warranties become void if any product shows evidence of any modification done without the express consent of DTH, and includes mishandling, bending, welding, mutilation of parts, and insulating wrap products. DTH is not responsible for any other expenses involved in a warranty claim, including any labor costs incurred by the customer in relation to defective parts, or shipping costs to DTH. Nor shall DTH be responsible for any damages, whether consequential, special, contingent or otherwise; or expenses or injury that may arise from the use of DTH products. The bluing and discoloration of chrome exhaust products is considered normal, as is the dulling of ceramic coated products, and as such coatings are not covered under the terms of the warranty. Rust apparent during the extended life of products is also considered normal and excluded from the warranty. Any DTH product that has been discontinued from new sales for a period of 5 years or longer will no longer be eligible for replacement under terms of the warranty, the repair of any defective parts will be the only option. Any non-defective not-installed product may be returned for any reason within 30 calendar days of receipt, and will be subject to a 20% restocking/repackaging fee. This warranty policy supersedes any other warranties offered by DTH. DTH reserves the right to modify the warranty policy at any time, and a detailed copy of sale terms, condition and warranty information is available upon request.
