Fire/smoke damper EKO-JBG2 Description The EKO-JBG2 fire/smoke damper is a CE-approved damper intended for fire compartmentation or protection against the spread of fire and smoke in ventilation installations. The damper is designed in compliance with current regulations. The damper is intended for in-wall installation in fire-containment sections conforming to fire-technical class up to EI 120. The ventilation duct can be left without any fire insulation whatever. A wire mesh grille should always be fitted when the damper is not connected to the ducting. CE-approval The EKO-JBG2 fire/smoke damper has been tested by SP and approved by SP Certifiering, CE-marking 0402-CPR SC0400-13. Design The EKO-JBG2 fire/smoke damper is available with guide or flange connections as standard. The damper has a factory-mounted electrical motor with spring return, end position contacts and thermal sensor. Since the damper has two inspection hatches it is reversible and there is no need to select a particular motor side. The standard EKO-JBG2 is manufactured of galvanized sheet steel (C2) with damper blades and casing of fire-resistant material. Alternatively, the damper can be made of aluzinc (C4) or stainless steel for a higher corrosivity class. The damper is fitted with a gasket to seal the air side. There is also a sealing strip on the damper that expands and seals if the damper is exposed to heat. The pivot shaft must nevertheless always be mounted horizontally. Temperature Since the EKO-JBG2 damper frame is fitted with sealing strips that expand to seal off in the event of fire, the operating temperature must not exceed 70 C. Sizes The EKO-JBG2 fire/smoke damper is manufactured in a large number of standard sizes from 200 x 200 to 1200 x 1000 mm. Product data EKO-JBG2 Sizes 200 x 200 to 1200 x 1000 mm. Supplied with guide or flange connections. Material of manufacture: galvanized, aluzinc coated or stainless sheet steel. Fire-technical class in compliance with SS-EN 15650:2010 EI 120 (ve ho i < > o) SC 20000 Testing and classification in compliance with EN 1366-2 and EN 13501-3. CE-marking 0402-CPR-SC0400-13 The damper conforms to air tightness class 2 and the casing conforms to air tightness class B according to EN 1751:1998. The damper conforms to air tightness class 2 and pressure class A according to AMA VVS & Kyl 12. The differential pressure over a closed damper can be 1000 Pa, corresponding to pressure class A. Conforms to environmental class C2. AMA VVS code QJC.2 Fire/smoke damper EKO-JBG2. EI 120 S 1 1 (8)
Motors The EKO-JBG2 is supplied with a 24 V or 230 V electrical safety motor supplemented with a thermal sensor and test button for manual testing of functioning in situ. If the temperature exceeds 70 C inside or outside the damper, the sensor cuts off the power to the motor and the fire damper is closed. The same thing happens in the event of a power cut. A 24 V motor is always used together with the monitoring units EKO-KE 2-16 and EKOTME/TSE. A 230 V motor is used for the EKO-MKE/SKE monitoring unit. Note that the damper must always be delivered with a factory-mounted safety motor if P-certification is to be valid. Maintenance External and internal inspection Check electricity cables to the motor, smoke detectors and thermal sensor to ensure that they are not damaged. Check the damper casing, the motor attachment, damper blades and sealing strip to ensure that no damage has occurred. Function control Check that the damper is fully open when operating, closes and opens fully when tested, and closes completely when power is cut off. Otherwise follow the instructions for the EKO MKE/SKE/KE/TME/ TSE control and monitoring system. The air conditioning equipment must be switched off during the function control. Cleaning We recommend preventive maintenance of the damper according to the needs of the installation. Damper blades and body (interior) should be cleaned by brushing, vacuum cleaning or wiping down. NOTE! No water or other liquid may be used. Note After inspection the fire damper should be left in normal working position. Installation Installation must always be done in accordance with the supplied installation instructions. An installation device for attaching the damper to a wall and angle brackets for ducts are included in the damper delivery. Other components, such as couplings and fire collars, must be ordered separately. The size of the hole is always the dimension of the damper + 140 mm. Mounting instructions EKO-JBG2 Structural element wall of plasterboard or equivalent in fire-technical class EI 60/EI 120. The fire/smoke damper should always be installed with the pivot shaft horizontal. 1. Add horizontal studs and where necessary also vertical studs so that a suitable opening in the wall is obtained equivalent to the nominal dimensions of the damper + 140 mm. 2. Attach the EKO-MOP mounting plates to the damper with screws so that the damper blade is placed within the wall when mounted. 3. Centre the damper in the opening and screw the mounting plates to the wall studs. Ensure that the diagonal dimensions of the duct are equal. 4. Fill the gap between the duct and the wall with fire sealant EKO-KER or similar and seal with fire protection sealant. 6. In cases where the damper is mounted as a transfer air device or end plate, an EKO-N wire mesh grille must be fitted. 7. The following minimum dimensions must be observed when mounting: Minimum distance between dampers: 200 mm. Minimum distance to wall/floor: 75 mm. NOTE! On dampers with a height exceeding 550 mm the extension adapter EKO-FLS with wire mesh grille must be used since the damper blade protrudes beyond the damper adapter in open position. 5. The suspension devices for the damper and ducting must meet the requirements for the firetechnical class of the aperture. 7 7 (8)
