The sources of this information are: An independent monitor (July 20) for forecast retained values after 3 years operation. For Service, Repair and Tyre we are using an independent survey which is updated monthly and covers all van models produced by every manufacturer. Included in the analysis are regular servicing and replacement of tyres, brake pads and discs, batteries, exhaust and clutches according to mileages 5,000 miles for the Citan sector, 0,000 miles for the Vito sector and 0,000 miles for the Sprinter sector For the fuel we use the published combined fuel consumption figures for each van and a diesel price of 2 pence per litre excluding VAT reduction from last month. Citan Sector - Whole Life Costs in Pence per Mile - July 20 (see next page for details) Fuel cost is down but this is balanced by a small drop in retained values, resulting in forecast whole life for the average for all brands in this sector little different from last month. The Ford Transit Connect in Base trim with 75hp engine leads the table. Low depreciation is the main factor with this Ford model (see next page). The Volkswagen Caddy with 75hp engine also benefits from low depreciation. All Citan models have better servicing and fuel than the lower powered Fords and VWs. Model for model Citan 0CDI show very competitive whole life in the table below. Higher powered Citans, Fords and VWs are at the bottom of the table. Vito strengths in fuel economy and retained values puts it at the top of this table with the VW Transporter. Compared to the VWs, Vito has the advantage on fuel economy and SMR but as yet the Transporter has lower depreciation. Vito 0, and have lower than the Transit Customs and the rest of the competition.
