JUNGTEC REVOLUTION JUNGTEC REVOLUTION TOP JUNGTEC REVOLUTION TONGUE AND GROOVE The JUNGTEC REVOLUTION is a gasket for life! Its revolutionary design also incorporates flange rotation, which guarantees that the entire bolt force works on the actual narrow sealing face during real-life use. 11

One of the world s most innovative gaskets for environmental protection JUNGTEC JP / JG Winner of the German Environmental Award JUNGTEC gaskets make a major contribution to environmental protection and reduce diffuse emissions by more than 99% compared with conventional sealing systems. Our gasket concepts increase system availability and safety enormously, which in turn reduces maintenance costs several times over. Gasket technology at the highest possible level In view of increasing environmental requirements and rising cost pressure for the customer, we decided to rethink the gasket technology topic. The result: the JUNGTEC REVOLUTION, a non plus ultra gasket. High costs have often been the reason technical improvements have failed in the past. This can now be a thing of the past thanks to the JUNGTEC REVOLUTION. Its revolutionary design also incorporates flange rotation, which guarantees that the entire torque effect works on the actual narrow sealing face during real-life use. The centering ring profiling provides the highest seal stability when built-in and maximum flexibility during installation. Winner of the German Business Innovation Prize 2008 JUNGTEC was presented the German Business Innovation Prize for 2008 during a gala ceremony on 24 January 2009. JUNGTEC GmbH & CO. KG won the award in the medium-sized enterprise category for developing one of the most innovative gaskets for environmental protection. 12

JUNGTEC visio The JUNGTEC VISIO has a solid stainless steel base with embossed inner and outer tooth and a graphite layer on both sides. A resilient tooth s, which seals metallically on both sides of the flange, is embossed on the medium and atmosphere sides. These flexible cogs can handle alternating forces without elastic deformation, which means the bolts do not have to be retightened. The gasket s constructive dimensioning ensures that it meets TA Luft requirements, even with the lowest bolt tightening torques, which in turn means that high-grade bolts are no longer required. The sealing geometry is indestructible, even with a high surface pressure of more than 600 Mpa. The most important data: u Temperature range: -200 C to 600 C with regard to TA Luft u Pressure range: Up to 160 bar and vacuum u VDI 2440 and 2200 requirements met and exceeded, even when using inferior quality bolts u Standard material: 1.4571 (further materials available) u Total thickness: 1.6 mm and 4.6 mm +/- 0.1mm Your benefits u Solid stainless steel base with embossed metal tooth and graphite layer on both sides. u The tooth heights and graphite are precisely harmonized with one another, ensuring there is no tooth geometry elastic deformation when they are mounted. u Resilient tooth on the medium and atmosphere side, which seals the flange metallically. u The resilient inner and outer tooth balances pressure and temperature fluctuations. u More than meets the sealing criteria of VDI 2440 TA Luft = 1 x 10-4 mbar x l/(m x s). u VDI 2440 and 2200 requirements met and exceeded, even when using inferior quality bolts. u Absolutely component and blow-off-proof. u Solid indestructible stainless steel core. u Graphite prevents product contamination. u Very suitable for use in vacuums. u Gasket settling behavior means bolts do not have to be retightened. u With tongue and groove gaskets there is no sticking or jamming because of excess graphite faster removal. u Available in all dimensions, with and without centering ring (special dimensions also possible). u No static electricity caused by electrical conductivity. u Reduced storage costs, as VISIO is an alternative to cam profile and spiral gaskets. u Solid stainless steel base with embossed metal inner and outer tooth and graphite lining on both sides. The even receiving surface of the graphite between the encapsulated resilient inner and outer cog means the gasket can handle very high temperatures and pressure loads. This prevents trade-standard gaskets, e.g. cam profile, spiral and corrugated ring gaskets, from failing, and in turn increases system safety and availability several times over. 1

JUNGTEC JP 1 The JP 1, an innovative encapsulated flat profile gasket developed by JUNGTEC, consists of a solid stainless steel base with a graphite or Teflon layer on both sides. JUNGTEC profiles apply the tongue and groove principle to gaskets! Encapsulation of the graphite layer ensures even pressure distribution on the gasket, and the graphite can spread and compress between the raised inner and outer teeth. The height of the inner and outer teeth is calculated with optimum graphite volume and compression to rule out any flange damage outside the peakto-valley depth. The sealing is provided both metallically and with graphite or Teflon. The JUNGTEC JP 1 therefore optimally combines the advantages of metal and composite seals. The most important data: u Effective seal width for qualified computational verification of technical tightness in acc. with TA Luft, VDI 2440 in acc. with EN 1591-1 u Temperature range: -200 C to 1,000 C (depending on the base material) u Pressure range: For welding neck flanges up to 400 bar and in vacuums u Lowest leakage rates of all gaskets currently on the global market u Standard material: 1.4541 and 1.4571 u Total thickness from 2.5 mm (further thicknesses available). JUNGTEC JG 1 The JG, an innovative encapsulated flat profile gasket developed by JUNGTEC, consists of a solid stainless steel base with a graphite or Teflon layer on both sides. Encapsulation of the layers ensures even pressure distribution on the seal, and the graphite can spread and compress between the raised inner and outer teeth. The height of the metal inner and outer teeth is calculated with optimum graphite volume and compression to rule out any flange damage outside the peak-to-valley depth. The sealing is provided both metallically and with graphite or Teflon. The JUNGTEC JG 1 therefore optimally combines the advantages of metal and composite seals. The gasket can be reused several times over because of the surface s sealing effect with elastic deformation. Depending on the size of the stress, the sealing surface between the lens gasket s curvature and the beveled rotated flange surface increases, which means that the gasket cannot be overstressed. WELD RING GASKETS Weld ring gaskets without an auxiliary gasket are primarily used where high pressure and very high temperatures are the norm. We recommend weld ring gaskets be used with an auxiliary ring, e.g. spiral gasket, where absolute tight gasket sealing is an absolute must with dangerous media. Weld ring gaskets also have the advantage that the welded connection can be removed without any great difficulty. It is important with weld ring gaskets when calculating the bolts and flanges that the weld ring gasket halves sit on top of one another without any gaps. If weld ring gaskets are configured with an additional auxiliary gasket, e.g. a spiral or rotated serrated gasket, the flange and bolt calculation must be a) calculated once for the weld ring gasket with the diameter of the raised face out to the outer weld seam and b) the calculation (e.g. spiral gasket) should be made with the average seal diameter of the spiral or serrated gasket. Weld ring gaskets with an additional auxiliary gasket also have the advantage that the gasket can only be welded after a successful trial operation.
