Arel LOTO LOTO / What is it? The LOTO product range is the acronym of Lock out Tag out, and it includes instruments used by operators during the maintenance of plants. Such devices are dedicated to the communication of the current maintenance activity on the single machinery, playing a fundamental role in safety. The LOTO product range embraces the Arel - Light duty and Arel - Heavy duty ranges, and it can be defined as guarantor of the ongoing process. The LOTO product range does not define, contrary to interlocks, a sequence of actions or the correct conduct of the procedure, but it is instead essential to the communication of such ongoing process. Using the LOTO range is in the interest of the single operator and of the holder of the plants, with the objective to safeguard machinery and workers during the process. LOTO, if integrated with an interlocking system, introduces the possibility to manage multiple accesses, which represent a typical occurrence during outsourcing processes, especially when a large number of people is involved in the maintenance of large plants.
