April 19-22, 2017 Grand Prairie Premium Outlets/ Longhorn Harley-Davidson, 2950 W. Interstate 20, Grand Prairie, TX In 2011 the Grand Prairie Police Department teamed up with local business to create an event that would allow motorcycle officers to give back to the communities they serve. The Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition is recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization. The money raised from the competition goes to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Grand Prairie Police Department Motor Unit is proud to host the 7 th Annual Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition. This year s competition will take place April 19-22, 2017. The main competition days will be Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22. Grand Prairie Premium Outlets and Longhorn Harley-Davidson have worked together to provide the location for this year s event at 2950 W. Interstate 20, Grand Prairie. The location is bordered by the Grand Prairie Premium Outlets on the north and Longhorn Harley-Davidson on the east. Since the first competition we have continued to grow and evolve. In 2014 we were glad to be able to introduce a new element, hosting the 1 st annual Spring Classic Civilian Motorcycle Competition in conjunction with the police competition. This competition allows civilian and police riders to compete on the same courses, helping to promote rider training amongst civilian motorcycle enthusiasts. This will be the third year to have this unique element as part of our event. The four-day event brings together officers from across the region and state to take part in valuable training to keep them safe while performing their normal duties. The competition allows the officers to have fun while showing off their riding skills in front of spectators and having an opportunity to interact with the public in a non-enforcement role. Through entry fees, civilian donations made at the event, and our sponsors, we are able to make a sizeable contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and in turn support the Special Olympic Athletes and Special Olympics movement as a whole. Without the support of our generous sponsors none of this would be possible. It is for this reason that we are reaching out, looking for companies who would be willing to help us make the 7 th Annual Spring Classic Competition another huge success. On the following pages is the sponsorship information. Vendor spaces are available with each sponsorship level, allowing sponsors to also interact with both the spectators from throughout the community and the officers taking part in the event. We are also accepting items for a silent auction to be held in conjunction with the event. The Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition Board thanks you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you. Questions? Contact: Ofc. T. Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition Mission: It is the mission of the Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition to provide law enforcement motorcycle officers from across the region unique and challenging training opportunities, which will help them to be safer motorcycle operators while performing their regular duty assignments. Furthermore, we wish to team with civilian motorcyclists to increase the understanding amongst civilian riders of the need for further motorcycle operator training, and thus provide an overall safer environment for all motorcycle operators. Through these training opportunities we hope to build camaraderie between the law enforcement officers and the citizens that we protect and serve, while giving back to those in our communities with intellectual disabilities. Since the inception of the Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition in 2011, the number of officers taking part in the training has continued to grow. In 2014 we allowed 10 civilians to join us in our training, and saw the benefits this brought to the training competition, both in training and the bond between officers and the citizens in our communities. We continue to build this bond and are moving to fully integrate the officer and civilian training in order to better fulfill our mission as an organization. Also, during our first six years we have been able to raise over $53,000 which was given to programs which improve the lives of those with intellectual disabilities in our communities, through the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. The Spring Classic Police Motorcycle Training and Skills Competition is a recognized 501c3 organization. WWW.GPTX.ORG/SPRINGCLASSIC https://www.facebook.com/gpspringclassic
