President s Message Well, Pres Steve in missing in action. He s probably on vacation or in the 69 Goat now that we finally have some top-down cruisin weather! Tune in next month for his words of wisdom. JULY MEETING @ Rosetown American Legion Upcoming cars shows and events: see details on page 10 Page 2

save some money. We do need updated E-mail addresses from all our members however, as many are outdated. June Meeting Minutes We met at Sonic in Colombia Heights with 12 members present. It was not raining! Last month s minutes were read and accepted. A treasurer s report was read and accepted. Old Business Todd found a 1978 penny in his 1978 Trans Am. He and some of his friends are going to Grove Creek on July 6th. He also reminded us that the Car Craft is coming up. We would like to have our next meeting at that pizza buffet place that is in Inver Grove Heights. Maybe Nick Mann could arrange this? I won the drawing. Respectfully Submitted, Steve Mudbird Weese Tomahawk Chapter Secretary GM Show We had about 200 cars and Terry wishes to thank all who helped out. We probably will not receive anything from this show with the poor turnout because of the weather. Pontiac Event PLUGGERS There were some nice cars there including the featured model, the Trans Am. The late models made a strong showing with (6) G6 GXP s in attendance. New Business We discussed having more activity on our Facebook and Pinterest accounts. We discussed having a new club rooster printed and mailed out. Some member s thought we could get the same information out with an E- mail and Thanks to Terry & Karen Ford for the Pluggers submission. Page 3

Meanwhile... Back at the Pontiac Ranch Membership Meeting July 16th 7:00 pm Rosetown American Legion Whew... very busy out here at the ranch! We re packing up our 92 Pontiac Trans Sport with the POCI Convention registration packets and supplies and heading down to Dayton on Sunday 7/7... which happens to be my birthday. I can think of worse things to be doing - nothing like a 12-hour road trip! 700 County Road C Roseville, MN Rosetown American Legion I guess it s safe to announce the dates and location for the 2014 POCI Convention. It will be held a little earlier - June 17-21 in Wichita, Kansas. Watch the poci.org website for more information and on-line registration. Safe travels to those that are convention-bound. A big thanks to Jim & Barb Kline for transporting convention supplies in the back of their pickup. Keep those Ponchos rollin! Paul Bergstrom, Tomatalk Editor POCI s 2014 Convention: Wichita, Kansas June 17-21, 2014 Page 4

Pontiac Happening III Automotorplex Photos by Steve Weese & Paul Bergstrom There was a decent turnout this year with 70-80 cars, and the feature Pontiac model was the Firebird. Congratulations to Tim & Ann Herrera for winning an award. The TA also won an award at the Arrow GMC/ Buick show - way to go! Enjoy the photos, and thanks to the Land O Lakes GTO Club for co-hosting this event. Page 5

All GM Car Show Terry Ford Thursday night we packed the goody bags with the help of our loyal club members who always seem to be available when duty calls. Al Longley told me that he has helped with packing every year since day one. I m sure others have been helping for along time too. Our special guest, Ed Hustad and Rose participated also. Saturday morning started with breakfast at Perkins then out to the Fairgrounds with Pat Furlong, Tony Miller, Nick Mann, Steve Messer,Todd Lewis and who else did I forget, to set up the tent for Sunday. Sunday morning started out with rain. Karen and I arrived at seven to open the registration table and it was still raining. Finally about noon we got an hour break then more rain followed. A big thanks to the 24 Pontiac drivers who showed up despite the weather. A big thanks to Steve Messer, Jim Felker, Karen Ford, and others who helped throughout the day. Some got cold, some got wet and some we pulled from the gutter, but I think every one enjoyed themselves. Now the awards Dan and Cathy Reed took a first with there 1964 Catalina, Kim Berg got 2nd with her 1974 GTO Steve and Marilyn Messer got a first with there 1969 GTO, Mick and Mary Crandall took 2nd with there 1970 GTO. Mike, Robin and Britteny Winklemen, who drove up from Iowa won the 25 dollar gift certificate from Rock Auto.com, Madison Wisconsin. Total registered car was about 200, so thanks for coming and supporting the GMCCA show. Also, a thanks to the gals for filling out the pre-registration cards and putting together the ballots and dash cards. Page 9
