Safety instructions Safety instructions General information These assembly instructions provide detailed information on installation, assembly, handling and maintenance relevant to control system 5. The safety information in these instructions relates directly to control system 5 and does not regard the base machine. In addition to these assembly instructions, you should carefully read the safety information regarding the relevant base machine and any other equipment you will be using.. Do not attempt to install, use or perform maintenance on the tiltrotator/rotator and its enclosed equipment before carefully reading all the information regarding the tiltrotator/rotator, its related equipment and the base machine. OBS! There are further safety instructions in the instruction manual for the rotator. Identification and marking of the tiltrotator/rotator Check that the information in Certification of conformity corresponds to the information on the machine (see point 2, Checking the type plate ), the equipment and the documentation. In the event of non-conformities, contact your supplier before first assembly. Carefully read all warning texts before assembling or using the tiltrotator/ rotator and its accompanying equipment. The warning texts explain potential risks and how to avoid them. If in any doubt, contact your employer or supplier. Remember that sound judgment and thorough knowledge of your machinery reduces many unnecessary risks. Consequently, operators should take the time to learn safe use of the tiltrotator/rotator and its related equipment before starting operation. Cautions Faulty installation can be dangerous. If in any doubt, contact your dealer or engcon Nordic AB. Ensure that the hydraulic system is decompressed before starting work on the system. Risk of personal injury. NB: Observe the maximum input pressure and maximum input flow. This applies to all control systems. See technical data. Switch off the power when working with the electrical system and remove rings, watches etc. before starting work. Risk of personal injury. Sida 4
Safety instructions Never use your hands to check for leaks in the hydraulic system. Hydraulic oil under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Implements connected to the tiltrotator/ rotator may not be used unless correctly locked into place. ALWAYS make sure that the lock bolts protrude according to the specifications for the relevant quick hitch. Take care if using a ladder to install parts. Risk of personal injury. Never attempt to increase the equipment s maximum capacity by making modifications without the Short circuits in electrical cables can cause injury and burning. Insulate electrical conductors and parts carefully when installing electrical equipment. Risk of burn injuries from hot hydraulic oil. The machine must never be operated with the implement lock switch turned on, except when attaching or detaching a bucket or implement. If in any doubt regarding the machinery or the safety features, contact an engcon dealer or engcon Nordic AB. Risk of catching in moving parts. Risk of personal injury. Sida 5
Safety instructions Symbols Implement lock switch not activated. Implement lock switch activated. The sticker below shows the functions for the general push buttons installed on the existing control levers. NB: Not available for all machines. Left control lever Rotation clockwise Rotation anticlockwise Optional grabber open (extra) Extra function Right control lever Tilt Tilt Optional grabber closed (extra) Extra function The above choice of button functions is only a recommendation. Variations may occur depending on how the user has chosen to position the functions. Sida 6

Function testing NB: There are two types of electrical box. The picture shows electrical box 302879. Set the mains switch to ON. Check that the green LED (1) is illuminated. This indicates that one of the output lines is active. LED (2) indicates that the lock piston for the bucket is activated. Electrical box 302879: Press all the function buttons one at a time. Electrical box 300386: Press the button (4) on the panel of the electrical box. Check that all the LEDs (3) are flashing red. If any of the LEDs (3) is constant red, the function is not correct. Check the connections. Electrical box 302879: If LED (5) is illuminated, the fuse in the electrical box has tripped. Open the lid of the electrical box and change the fuse. Electrical box 302879: If LED (7) is illuminated, the automatic fuse has tripped. Reset it by pressing the reset button (6) on the panel of the electrical box. Sida 19
