Full Size Limited Weld Class Rules General Rules 1. All Drivers and pit persons must sign in and register. All drivers/pit persons 16 or 17 years of age must have a notarized release signed by his or her parent or guardian. Nobody under 16 years of age can drive or be in the pits. 2. All rules will be enforced, follow them, or you will not run. NO WELDING ANYWHERE, EXCEPT WHERE PERMITTED. 3. Any driver or pit crew member disobeying the rules, or acting in an unsportsmanlike manner will be disqualified /banned from future derbies. 4. All drivers are to obey track officials at all times. 5. No pit crew members or spectators are allowed on the track at any time, no one riding on outside of cars anytime. 6. Any driver or pit crew member consuming or under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be ejected off the grounds/arrested. 7. If your car does not pass inspection, and driver is unwilling to make changes in 3 attempts, you will not run. 8. All drivers must attend a mandatory drivers meeting. 9. All controversies and concerns should be addressed at drivers meeting in a civil manner. *A driver protest fee $100 is required to contest another car. Fee will be refunded if car is found to be ineligible at drivers meeting. 10. Officials decision is final! *If you stretch a rule you will lose that rule. *Officials have the right to re-inspect, cut, or drill any car at any time. If you are caught breaking the rules set here forth you will forfeit any and all winnings and/or prizes you are due, bore scopes will be used to check frames during inspections for welding, plated, or loaded frames. You have been warned. Drivers Safety 1. D.O.T. Helmets, seat belt and eye protection must be worn at all times during competition. 2. Long sleeve shirts and pants must be worn during competition, fire suit is highly recommended! 3. If any of the above items become loose or come off, the competition will be stopped, and if these items cannot be placed back on the driver, you will be disqualified. 4. Seat belt is mandatory. Types of cars 1. All American made automobiles will be permitted except the following: *No jeeps, trucks, suburbans, el caminos, limos, wedged sedans or smash top wagons, hearses, or convertibles 2. 2003 and newer Fords are allowed but, must follow 03 and up rules for cradle and steering (see rule #12 in frame section) 3. 67 and Newer sub-frame Imperials only allowed. NO full frame imperials ALLOWED.

During competition 1. There will be a 1 minute contact rule, if you do not make a competitive hit on another car in 1 minute, you will be disqualified. 2. No hits on the driver s door. 3. Do not use you driver s door as a shield or stop sign. 4. No holding or double teaming. This will result in a disqualification. 5. Vehicle will be disqualified in ANY door comes open during competition. Car Preparation 1. All glass, headlights, tail lights, all carpet, head liners, door panels, soft chrome, mirrors, door handles, plastic, fiber glass, metal header panels and backseats must be removed. Cars must be swept clean before entering the grounds. Sun roofs must be covered securely for driver s safety. 2. All decking in the rear of station wagons must be removed. 3. All cars must have working breaks. At ALL times No EXCEPTIONS! 4. All trailer hitches and braces must be removed. 5. NO PROFANITY ON ANY PART OF THE CAR. 6. Any size battery may be used. Battery must be relocated to passenger floor board and properly secured and covered in a battery box. 7. Gas Tanks and Fuel Pumps *Stock gas tank MUST be removed from original position and mounted in the rear seat area and secured. No rubber chain straps. All tanks must have a secure cap. A marine tank or fuel cell is strongly recommended. All lines and fitting must be leak proof and meet approval of the track officials. Electric fuel pumps are allowed, but must have a shut-off switch within reach of the driver. Tanks must be covered before entering the track. *No more than 10 gallons of gas in tank* *All lines must be run inside car, not along frame underneath. *All lines should be double clamped. 8. NO PLASTIC FUEL TANKS. 9. All cars must have an air filter or breather to cover carburetor. Cages 1. Four bar cage, maximum size 4 x4 x3/8 square or round. If using C-channel for door bars, 6 max. 2. Roll over/halo Bar is to be attached to seat bar only. 3. Roll over/halo Bar must run straight up and over roof. 4. Roll over/halo Bar is allowed to bolted or welded in 3 spots to the roof, using 3 x3 x1/4 tabs and 3/8 bolts max. 5. Dash bar must be 5 from fire wall and 5 above transmission tunnel when measured from the center of the car. The dash bar must run straight across, no contouring to the firewall. 6. The back seat bar should be no further back than where the rear kick panel meets the floor board. 7. Door bars cannot extend any further than the firewall. 8. 4 square mounting plates for cage will be allowed 6 x6 x3/8 max. 9. Full floating gas tank protector will be allowed, 24 wide/4 x4 max. *No pinning, welding, bolting, etc. to body or frame.

*Gas Tank Protector will be attached to seat bar only, not to rear seat panel any way shape or form. 10. At driver/builder s discretion, two 4 x4 drop legs may be installed vertically from cage to sheet metal only. *Drop legs cannot be attached to frame, body mounts or body mount washers. 11. Cage gussets must attach to 4 bar age and cannot exceed 18 max. length. 12. Windshield bars may only be attached to roof, 3 max, and fire wall 3 max. *Windshield bars may not be mounted any closer together than the width of engine exhaust headers. * One front windshield bar at a minimum, two max in front. One rear window bar maximum in rear! * Maximum windshield bar(s) and rear window bar size will be 2 x1/4 round, square, or flat. 13. Rear window bar on sedans may only be attached to roof, 3 max and speaker deck/truck lid seam 3 max. welded or bolted. 14. Windshield and rear window bars will be mounted to sheet metal only. 15. NO KICKER BARS. This means no bars from dash bar through firewall to any part of frame, no bars from dash bar to distributor protector, no bars from Cage to floor except the two drop legs that are allowed. Frame 1. No frame creasing or hammering PERMITTED. You can notch or dimple rear frame to help rear of car to roll, not to strengthen the frame. 2. No frame seam welding, pinning or plating, except where rules permit. Any additional welding will result in disqualification. 3. No fresh paint or undercoating on the frames at all. No buffing or grinding frames except where welding is specifically allowed in the rules. 4. Re-Run cars * That need fixed from the rear humps back or firewall forward must call officials before repair. No Exceptions. * Frame repairs may be fixed by welding only, no added metal, unless official APPROVES the repair please call before repair is made. 5. Frame repairs on pre-run cars or frame rust repairs must call officials before dong any repairs. No Exceptions. 6. Frames must be: * GM/GM * Ford/Ford *Chrysler/Chrysler 7. All cars may be tilted. Must be done from cross member forward. * All factory holes in frame must remain open, no welding these holes shut. * You may cut factory seams at the box and re-weld to tilt the front of new style Fords. No metal may be added. 8. Cross members: * Custom made cross member max size will be: 2 x2 x1/4. * Cross member mounts max size will be: 6 x2 x2 x1/4 angle. * Cross member must be straight across and attached to frame rails only. Can only

be welded at the ends and must remain in stock location. 9. One chain link, 3/8 max. may be welded to the rear frame behind the axle to be used for #9 wire or chain from rail to rail. *2 spots max, 4 loops of wire or 3/8 chain. 10. Core support mounts cannot be altered or moved. You can cut the front of the frame off to mount the front bumper but do not re-locate the core support mount or bracket. 11. All cars can be welded from firewall forward, 1 seam of your choice only, ½ wide bead max. with a single pass! 12. On 03 and newer Fords you may use an 80 and newer Ford of GM steel cradles they must be put in like there factory counterparts only using the factory brackets no other metal may be added. They must be in factory location and cannot be moved forward. You may use a 3 spacer from the bottom of the frame to lower A-arm where the spring goes you may not alter frame in any manner other than attaching factory brackets with a single bead of weld. You cannot add any type of spring pockets to frame. All factory holes in front of A-arm must be open. Nothing may be welded on top of frame over the holes in front of frame. On 03 and newer Fords you cannot shorten the front of the frames. Body Mount 1. 5/8 x5 bolts max. Body mount bolts can only pass through one layer of frame. 2. 3 washer inside frame max. 3. Rubber body mounts may be removed. 4. 2 extra body mounts are allowed at builder s discretion, must be done factory fashion, following body mount rule. 5. Core support mounts may pass through both sides of frame, through core support and hood, 1 all-thread max. *This counts for 2 of the 6 hood mounting locations. (See body rule for other 4). Body 1. No inner seam body welds. 2. All doors may be welded solid, 3 x1/4 strapping max. Tops of the doors may be pinched together and welded. 3. Driver s door reinforcing must be done on exterior of door, and not to extend any further than door strapping. *Hood, trunk, or tailgate may be wired in six (6) places each, 2 stands of wire or light chain per hole if not welded or bolted. * NO WELDS ON HOOD EXCEPT WHERE PERMITTED. HOODS MUST BE LEFT OPEN UNTIL INSPECTION IS OVER. 4. Hoods must have two 8 x8 openings minimum. 5. You may have six 4 x4 x1/4 plates welded to body for hood mounting purposes. * Hood bolts may be 5/8 max with 4 washer. Except core support bolts can be up to one inch max. 6. Maximum body mount washers size inside body cannot exceed 4 x1/4 square or round.

7. Trunks and tailgates may be welded using 3 on 3 off pattern, maximum size will be 3 x3 x1/4. 8. Trunk lid on sedans must have two 10 inspection holes, either in the trunk lid or in the trunk floor. 9. Station wagons must remove both access panels in tailgate box permanently. 10. Pay close attention to this. This rule WILL BE enforced * Altering quarter panel height will be almost impossible to correct, and we as inspectors, cannot help you. This is your one and only warning, and one and only chance to do it correctly. *Quarter panels on all makes of cars must remain at factory height. Altering of quarter panel height, could result in not competing. 11. All trunk lids may be tucked or dipped in the middle, if trunk lids are dipped they must remain 10 min. along with speaker deck off the trunk floor. Speaker deck can be removed, but trunk lid can only be welded to quarter panels and tail light assembly. Trunks must remain at least 10 off the trunk floor and will be measured from the highest point of trunk floor. * No shifting trunk lids. * No wedging, no 45 degree angle or 90 degree angle type trunk lids will be allowed. ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL!! 12. Tailgates on wagons may be pushed down 10 max. from top of quarter panels. * When enhancing or increasing body lines on quarter panels, be extremely careful not to change the quarter panel height. * Body line creasing or enhancing will be limited to 2 body lines only. * 2 on the quarter panels and 2 on the front fenders. * Do not fold creases over, creating a double, triple effect. 13. Rules #10-12 are mainly for fresh cars only, BUT pre-run cars don t push these rules. PLEASE call before you start fixing or pre-bending a pre-run car. 14. Wheel well lips can be cut and folded, absolutely no welding is permitted. * You may bolt wheel well lips using five (5) 3/8 bolts and up to 1 washer max. 15. Sheet metal patching on body will be limited to factory thickness and cannot be any thicker than 16 ga. * You must call first, before any patching is deemed necessary. * Sheet metal patching will be in a 1 on 1 off spot weld pattern. 16. EXCESSIVE PATCHING MEANS EXCESSIVE CUTTING. Official s decision is final.. Bumpers 1. Any automotive (car) bumper of choice, homemade bumpers will be allowed, but may NOT be no larger than 5 x 3 1/8 thick, square or round tubing. 2. If you choose to use a factory bumper it must have chrome shell backing plate. 3. All work must be done inside of bumper. 4. You may cap ends, no inspection hole required. (FRONT ONLY). 5. Bumpers are expensive, weld them up and build them to last (FRONT ONLY). 6. Bumpers may be hard-nosed. * You may have a 6 x6 x3/8 bumper mounting plate.

* 8 bumper bracket, 8 bumper shock inside frame, or 8 x4 x3/8 plate. 1 of 3 of these methods only. * Frames will be drilled to verify length of bumper shock inside frame, if using this method. 7. Rear bumpers must be stock, other than welding chrome shell to backing plate. * If ends are capped, must have 2 inspection hole on each side. * Any OEM bumper bracket or bumper shock may be used on rear (automotive only) may be welded to frame. 8. Bumper shocks may be pushed in and welded. 9. Maximum bumper height 22 to bottom of bumper. 10. Minimum bumper height 16 to bottom of bumper. Suspension 1. Rear Suspension * Homemade or after-market shocks accepted, on rear of vehicle 1 all thread max, but must be mounted in factory location, and not to be used as extra body mounts. *Rear coil spring cars and station wagons that change to shackles and leaf springs, must use a maximum of five (5) leafs 5/16 thick max. on sedans and station wagons. Maximum four (4) clamps per spring, two (2) back are permitted. Leaf springs must be stair-stepped in length and not be same in length as the main leaf, ½ min. on the stair step. *stock leaf spring cars: Chryslers, GM wagons, 60 s Fords, etc. * If leaf spring packs are altered in any shape or form, you must then follow the above conversion rule, any questions please call official first. * No welding or taping leaf springs together. * Rear end must remain on top of leaf springs. * Hump plates are allowed for coil spring cars only, not on leafed cars. Only one (1) per side, must be welded or bolted on outside of frame. Plates may not exceed ¼ max in thickness, 24 in length and 4 in width. * Coil springs may be held in with wire, chain, or welded. * Rear coil spring control arms builder may strengthen factory arms or make homemade arms out of 2 box tubing maximum. * Any OEM (automotive) or after-market trailing arm accepted. Must be mounted using factory or factory like brackets, cannot strengthen frame, officials decision is final! 2. Front Suspension * A-arm swap accepted * No upper A-arm bracket swaps, must us factory A-arm bracket for that car. * Front suspension may be locked, upper A-arms may be folded down to frame and welded with no metal added, or one 2 x2 strap from A-arm to frame on each side of A-arm or one 2 pipe, square tubing, or angle iron. One (1) per side welded from bottom of frame to lower A-arm. Builder is allowed only one (1) of the three (3) methods, not all three (3). * 2003 and newer Fords front suspension go to Frame section rule #12 *TIE RODS: after market is allowed, stock style tie rods may be re-enforced for strength.

Drive Line 1. Any motor, transmission, rear end of choice. 2. Distributor Protector, engine cradle, transmission protectors, ultra bells, rear end back braces, sliders, are all accepted. 3. Transmission cooler must be properly secured inside car, with leak proof lines. Hydraulic lines are recommended. 4. Solid fans require a hood being used covering fan. 5. Motor and transmission mounting may not strengthen car in any shape or form, official s decision is final. 6. Engines may be tied down in one of these manners: * No distributor protector and cradle = 4 chains 3/8 max, one link bolted to frame per chain. 3/8 bolts max. * Distributor protector or cradle only = 2 chains 3/8 max, one link bolted to frame per chain. 3/8 bolts max. * Distributor protector and cradle = 2 chains 3/8 max, one link bolted to frame per chain. 3/8 bolts max. * Chains can only be 18 in length Wheels/Tire s 1. Maximum wheel and tire size will be no larger than 7.50x16. 2. Wheel weights must be removed. 3. Tires can be any tread design and any ply rating. 4. Any/All after-market wheels are allowed (this means bead locks, valve stem guards, full plated centers, etc. are permitted) **any questions, please call first** Misc. 1. Expanded metal may be used on core support, 1/4 max, to be bolted or welded in 8 places only, or air conditioning condenser can be bolted or welded in 8 places only. 3/8 bolts max. with 1 washers. 2. Core support to fender bars accepted, 2 only (1 per side). 3/8 bolts max, no welding! *18 long x ¾ outside diameter max. 3. Radiator must be mounted in factory location, using #9 wire, 1 wide banding, ratchet straps, ropes, or 2 pieces of 3/8 all thread. * No homemade radiators. 4. After market steering columns, gas pedals, brake pedals, shifters, all are accepted. 5. You can tie your hood or core support to front bumper in four (4) spots using #9 gauge wire, two (2) stands of wire per spot. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO PLEASE READ AND RE-READ THESE RULES, if it doesn t say you can do it, don t assume that you can. If you are found not to be built by these rules, you will be given 2 options: A. CUT OR REMOVE ILLEGAL PARTS, IF POSSIBLE! B. LOAD ON TRAILER AND GO HOME.
