1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY INSERO QUARTERLY, Q4 20 6 DENMARK THE MAIN TENDENCIES FROM DENMARK The total number of electric vehicles in Denmark has now surpassed 3,000, with more than half of them sold during 20. This year was very positive in comparision with 2013, where the Danish sales figures actually stagnated a bit. In 20 they rose by more than 167 %. Check out the figures Q4 of 20 represented the best selling quarter in 20, as October, November and December were the three best selling individual months throughout the year. Check out the figures It is interesting to notice that the plug-in hybrid vehicle segment took 5 % of the market in 20, as they have not previous sold well at all in Denmark. The relative success can be subscribed to the BMW i3 REX version, which as the only plug-in hybrid gets a huge discount on the registration tax The infrastructure roll-out is very well underway in Denmark, where it is being driven by several private operators looking to make a business providing electricity for electric vehicles. Especially interesting is the fact that a Danish fast charging network is now also developing along the main motorways. There is currently a charging station available for every 3 electric vehicles in Denmark. Check out the figures In terms of incentives for electric vehicles, there is an important ongoing discussion about this in Denmark and a solution is expected soon. The current exemption from registration tax has so far not been prolonged beyond the end of 2015, which is putting the Danish market in a limbo. However, central politicians within the government have promised a solution in the early part of 2015 and indicated that they still believe in the necessity of a large-scale roll-out of electric vehicles. Check out more It will be interesting to see if the positive sales continue in Q1 2015 as the end of the exemption of registration tax gets closer and still no solution has been presented
