The RGB Spectrum Zio App for Android-based smart displays provides many of the same features as the Zio Model D2002, in a software-based solution optimized to run on select Philips smart display models. Downloading and Installing the Zio App You can download the Zio App directly to the display. Or, you can use an external PC to download the app package to a USB storage device. Before You Start Connect a router or network access point to the RJ-45 Ethernet port on the display. Using the Chromium Browser on the Philips Display To download the Zio App directly to the display and install it: 1. Connect a USB hub to the USB terminal closest to the rear of the display (the other one only provides power). Figure 1 2. Connect a USB mouse and keyboard to the USB hub. 3. On the Philips remote control unit, press Home ( ), 1, 8, 8, 8, in sequence. 4. From the main Android menu, select Apps. 5. Select/launch the Chromium app. 6. Visit rgb.com/support/zio-decoder-app. 7. Select Download Trial. 8. Fill out/submit the form. 9. Follow the link on the next screen to download the app package to the display's internal storage (/storage/emulated/legacy/download). 10. Click OK to confirm that you want to download the file. 11. On the Philips remote control unit, press RETURN ( ) until you see the Apps menu. 12. Select/launch the File Manager app. Zio App for Philips Quick Start Guide 4
13. Select the app package you downloaded in Steps 9 and 10 (/storage/emulated/legacy/download/ Philips-package-release-signed-[version_number].apk). 14. Select Open to proceed with the installation. Figure 2 15. From the File Manager menu, choose Exit. Using an External PC 1. Visit rgb.com/support/zio-decoder-app. 2. Select Download Trial. 3. Fill out/submit the form. 4. Follow the link on the next screen to download the app package to the root directory of a USB storage device. 5. Insert the storage device into the USB terminal closest to the rear of the display (the other one only provides power). 6. On the Philips remote control unit, press Home ( ), 1, 8, 8, 8, in sequence. 7. From the main Android menu, select Apps. 8. Select/launch the File Manager app. 9. Select the app package you downloaded in Step 4 (/mnt/usb_storage/philips-package-release-signed- [version_number].apk). 10. Select Open to proceed with the installation. 11. Starting and Stopping the Zio App Figure 3 Starting the Zio App 1. On the Philips remote control unit, press Home ( ), 1, 8, 8, 8, in sequence. 2. From the main Android menu, select Apps. 3. Select/launch the ZioAppLauncher app. Figure 4 Stopping the Zio App The Zio App always runs in the foreground. When you attempt to switch to another smart display app from the Android app drawer, the Zio App always returns to the foreground after a brief period. To prevent this from occurring, you can force-stop the app. To select a menu item using the Philips remote control unit, use the arrow buttons to navigate to your selection. Then, press OK to confirm your selection. To stop the Zio App: 1. On the Philips remote control unit, press Home ( ), 1, 8, 8, 8, in sequence. 2. From the main Android menu, select Settings. 3. Select Settings > Apps > ZioAppLauncher. 4. Select Force Stop, if it isn't already selected. 5. Press OK to confirm this action. Zio App for Philips Quick Start Guide 6

With the Zio App running, open a web browser window on a PC or tablet that is on the same network as the display. 2. Log in to the Zio Coordinator GUI with the user name admin and password spectrum (lowercase). 3. Allow the Zio Coordinator to discover the Zio App device. 4. Add the Zio App device to your Zio configuration. For detailed instructions, refer to the section entitled Adding a Discovered Device in the Zio Technical Reference Guide. Licensing Your Zio App Although it is possible to use the Zio App without purchasing a license, a watermark appears over the displayed image when you do this. Also, you cannot view RGB-encrypted content using an unlicensed copy of the app. To remove the watermark and enable the encryption feature, you must purchase a license from RGB Spectrum as follows: 1. Log in to the Zio Coordinator GUI. 2. Follow the steps in the section entitled Obtaining Hardware Information in the Zio Technical Reference Guide to create a text file that contains information that uniquely identifies your Zio App device. 3. Visit the Zio App Support section of the RGB Spectrum web site (rgb.com/support/zio-decoder-app). 4. Select Purchase License. 5. Fill out the order form. Attach the hardware information text file you created in Step 2. 6. Submit the form. 7. Someone from RGB Spectrum will contact you for payment information. Upon payment, you will receive a time-based license file via return e-mail. 8. Follow the steps in the section entitled Activating the New License in the Zio Technical Reference Guide.
