MUST not drive PSU protected carriers. Basic drivers, who have attended a 3-day C1/D1 course at Driving School, may drive Station Vans, Minibuses (up to 17 seats inc driver), large vans and PSU protected carriers. Basic drivers who already have a category C1/D1 DVLA licence may be locally assessed and authorised to drive Station Vans, Minibuses (up to 17 seats inc the driver), large vans and PSU protected carriers. MUST not drive in response mode. Response drivers (post January 2013 i.e. non-van) with category C1/D1 DVLA licence may be locally assessed and authorised to drive Station Vans, Minibuses (up to 17 seats inc the driver), large vans and PSU protected carriers. Firearms officers, who have been trained in the use of recognised driving tactics (to ARV standard) as contained within the ACPO Firearms Manual and MPS Police Use of Firearms (PuoF) manual. The officers will have a current tactics stamp on their blue card. Only applies to officers currently attached to one of the following units; CO19, SCD7 (5), CO18 ARV, CO6 ARV, SO14 SEG. No Auto in response All driver levels: Transferees / rejoiners who have not received any driver training on automatics. On completion of appropriate training, this restriction can be deleted All trained police drivers Response to Advanced who have been classified by the driving school as Non Pursuit, also includes transferees who have not been trained in the Initial Phase pursuit management module. Drivers must not take part in any phase of a pursuit. They are to assume the role of a Basic driver. Restriction will be lifted following attendance at Hendon Driving School to complete 2 -day course in the case of transferees or have successfully completed refresher training in Initial Phase Pursuit.
